Loved the book. Saw it as a kid, would like to refresh my memories.

I'd also like to see the animated version:

Ahh.. no offence, but you are a robot, aren't you?

Originally it is German, I think. But imbd (your link) is stating "language: english".

Have a look here: http://imdb.com/title/tt0091537/board/nest/794301

Quote: "it is available in English. Done with voices I can barely tolerate."

Hmm ... what do we make out of that ? :wacky:

Is it possible to do the subs ourselves ?

I am native German speaker. Translation won´t be the problem. Just technical know-how ...

hm.. it would be possible.. only take alot of time. not so much the actual translation, but setting the timecodes would be hell. If there was at least a german sub file out there, it wouldn't be that difficult at all. First we'd need to get ahold of the damned thing though.

But I see no sign of ANY subs.

hmm.. that's kind of cheap actually...

Best would be if there just was some German here who could rent-and-rip it.

ok. So now we have to get the subs done... =)

I've found that animated before in itallian before (orignally in itallian I think...?) in a nice dvdrip avi, but without subs it's also pretty useless. Such a shame that someone will put so much work into creating a film, and then keep people from enjoying it, simply by not including subs... =(

Originally, the film was an Italian / German co-production. Some of the the main actors are German (Radost Bokel = Momo, Mario Adorf = Nicola, Armin Müller-Stahl = leader of the grey men), some are Italian.

Well. I had no success with subs so far, but I left messages on the boards, where I found the movies.

Well, no. The movie is completely in German (the one, that I posted). I can only guess, that they released an Italian version as well (complete Italian audio).

Subs are very rare in Germany, since all movies are synchronized in German - quite often in real terrible quality ...

However. Your sig ... hehe ... that one is beginning to become real fun ...

I do have the Shpongle. I actually heard it on Saturday or Sunday, and could not help but notice ... that is, why I asked in the first place ... :D

I had not expected you having it from the CD. After all, it is not that popular, is it ? And I still believe, that it is originally from a movie.

Hehe ... sorry ... no bell ringing ...

I must confess: I really like a good sci-fi movie, but I am not that deep into it.

However. Momo download is complete, and quality seems to be ok. I will watch it some time this week. The animated one taking a bit longer ...

So. There we are.

As I put it in the very beginning: "I am with you all the way." Now it is up to you. Tell me: How long is that way gonna be ? :D

Are we serious about doing the subs ? I am ready to do the translation, but - as said before - I will be totally useless for the rest of the procedure.

Now: I am working full-time at the moment, and I would hate to spend hours and hours of my valuable free time ( ) without seeing the job finished.

Greetings.

ok, tt's from 'Forbidden Planet'. At the very begining.

Hmm.. Actually fansubbing. That would be a first for me at least... I could do the timecoding, if there was an easy way to do it, like pressing the space-bar every time something is said, thus marking an entry... If I have to manually write each timecode, then forget about it. But I'll look more into it, and see how it's done.

The only sad thing would be that I'd kinda ruin the movie for myself, as I'd watch it without undrstanding much.. but as I said, I'll look into it.

As for the animated one:
ed2k: [divx_Ita]_Walt_Disney_-_Momo_alla_conquista_del_tempo.avi  [677.83 Mb] [Stats]
Has much more sources, but is in Itallian. But if we actually create subs, then I'd could easily sync it to fit this rip as well, if it proves to be in better quality...?
