The Prisoner (1967)

seeing the tripods already posted i think itÂ´s my duty to post this
other genial uk tv-series here. no space ships here but still sci-fi i think.
funny how i got attentive to the series, because i think it was never
broadcasted in germany. iron maiden with their song "the prisoner"
woke my interest for it. bought the tapes then in the early 90s.

Plot:
A man who drives a 60's lotus sports car around London, resigns from a Top secret job. We next see him packing for a holiday at home, and a credit appears ... "The Prisoner". He is gassed, falls asleep and then wakes up in "The Village". Everyone in "The Village" is a number, and is there for security reasons (people to dangerous and who hold too much information to just let go). The series spends all it's time trying to get the "information" out of No.6 about why he resigned. Plus it spends quite a while chasing him with a weather balloon :-)

I should point out that this was not a BBC show, it was made by ITC and Patrick McGoohan's TV company and shown on ITV from 1967.

For my money, the first episode (very intriguing) and the last (just plain weird) were the best, although I haven't seen them all. Funnily, the last episode was the first one I saw!

if u havenÂ´t seen them all u should make up for it.
those episodes were all enjoyable,
my favorites were the arrival, schizoid man, many happy returns and
the chimes of big ben.

i fixed the tags as best I could... I think the rippers name has been removed.

Anyways, Iron Maiden sung a song about it. Need I say more? :mrgreen:

Oh Man!! What a site this is. Just finished getting The Prisoner (onto episode 8 now) and now thanks to all this talk of Iron Maiden (I used to listen to them ages ago!) I'm now downloading the complete Discography.

Mw2merc I live in Argentina, we speak spanish. I understand better something spoke in english if i read the subs too. If there's spanish subs I will really apreceate it, but english subs are good too. Is easiest read than listen in a forein language.
