Luv it or hate it, you have to admit that this is probably one of the most influential films ever made. Completely changing cinema for all time, practically inventing the special effects industry as we know it to day, redefining the role of sound tracks and just plain and simply blowing the minds out of us when we were kids.<br><br>For those of you who are jaded X-swar fans, then try this little test... show the film to a kid who hasn't seen it.... I've done this many times.. and you can see these 3 films have lost nothing.

I am also going to collect other movies that relate to Star Wars in some way, paradies, fan films and the like.

Part IV in a George Lucas epic, Star Wars: A New Hope opens with a rebel ship being boarded by the tyrannical Darth Vader. The plot then follows the life of a simple farmboy, Luke Skywalker, as he and his newly met allies (Han Solo, Chewbacca, Ben Kenobi, C-3PO, R2-D2) attempt to rescue a rebel leader, Princess Leia, from the clutches of the Empire. The conclusion is culminated as the Rebels, including Skywalker and flying ace Wedge Antilles make an attack on the Empires most powerful and ominous weapon, the Death Star.

Meanwhile, Han Solo and Princess Leia make their way to planet Bespin, where they are greeted by Han's old friend, a shifty gambler named Lando Calrissian. Ambushed by the Empire shortly after their arrival, Han and his friends are imprisoned by Darth Vader. Luke leaves Dagobah to rescue his friends, and is met by Vader and a startling revelation.

He is determined to do anything to save her, no matter the cost. While Obi-Wan is sent to kill General Grievous on Utapau, Anakin is taken under Palpatine's wing, being subtly seduced by the Dark Side of the Force and convince that the Dark Side is power than can save his wife from death. Soon enough, a new, darker, ominous figure that would eventually be feared by the entire galaxy is formed: Lord Darth Vader. Obi-Wan, discovering Anakin's betrayal, sees no choice but to face his own apprentice in an attempt to bring back the young, loyal Jedi that had been like his own son, brother, and friend.

Part IV in a George Lucas epic, Star Wars: A New Hope opens with a rebel ship being boarded by the tyrannical Darth Vader. The plot then follows the life of a simple farmboy, Luke Skywalker, as he and his newly met allies (Han Solo, Chewbacca, Ben Kenobi, C-3PO, R2-D2) attempt to rescue a rebel leader, Princess Leia, from the clutches of the Empire. The conclusion is culminated as the Rebels, including Skywalker and flying ace Wedge Antilles make an attack on the Empires most powerful and ominous weapon, the Death Star.

The Star Wars Holiday Special (1977)

The Star Wars Holiday Special was a two-hour television special (including commercials) broadcast on November 17, 1978 on CBS. In it, Chewbacca and Han Solo visit Kashyyyk, Chewbacca's home world, to celebrate Life Day. Along the way, they are pursued by agents of the Galactic Empire who are searching for rebels on the planet. The special introduces three members of Chewbacca's family: his father, Itchy, his wife, Malla, and his son Lumpy. Later Star Wars novels would also feature these characters, notably Michael P. Kube-McDowell's Black Fleet Crisis trilogy, Patricia Wynne's "The Wookiee Storybook," and Matthew Stover's "A Forest Apart."

The program also features cameos by other Star Wars characters, including Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, R2-D2, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia (who sings the film's "theme song", set to the music of John Williams' Star Wars theme, near the end).

The Holiday Special is important for being the first film-length Star Wars story after the original movie, and for showing an expanded look at parts of that universe. For the most part, however, the plot serves as little more than a means to string together a series of musical numbers, celebrity cameos, and other variety-show acts. These include songs and comedy routines by such '70s talents as Jefferson Starship, Diahann Carroll, Art Carney, Harvey Korman, and Bea Arthur. Easily the most notable segment is an animated cartoon featuring the pre-Empire Strikes Back debut of Boba Fett.

From 1980, this episode of the Muppet Show starred Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. It starts off with scheduled guest Angus the Argyle Gargoyle getting ready to go on the air. But suddenly Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, and C-3PO crash into the studio, in search of Chewbacca the Wookiee, who was kidnapped, and since nobody liked Angus, they replaced his guest spot with the stars of Star Wars. Luke isn't really interested in hosting the show, so he calls in his 'cousin' Mark Hamill to help out. Mark does the necessary song-and-dance parts, until Luke Skywalker and the droids hijack the Swine Trek. After the Swine Trek makes a smooth landing, Luke and the Droids are captured by Derth Nader, and Chewbacca the Wookiee comes to the rescue.

Note that the starwars holiday special is VERY low quality.. even for what it is. As in the only copies around are from VHS recorded in 1978... even so this is a very bad release... I have seen better.. in fact used to have one better in a 2 cd vcd but I lost the darn disk!!!

Actually-someone that is good at cleaning up and filtering mpegs should maybe clean them up real good-they are from TheForce.net. I will give it a shot.

sounds good.. I have a massive update for this thread on the way including all the added stuff as well as the dvdr I am making.... just waiting for the star wars definitive edition special features to come down so I can add a few of the movies from that to the dvd-r....

BTW... Wat do you guys think about having the star wars fan films on this thread.. I mean I put troopers/George Lucas in love as they are very very good, and hardware wars as it was the first one ever done and noticed by anyone.... there are literally millions of them... most are on direct download at the force.net.

Maybe we should make a 2nd thread for the fan films? Or just add only the films that site members nominate?

No need to post anything here that can be directly downloaded from TheForce.Net. Any reason I shouldn't make the 2 DVDR "Making of"s I have available? They do have hard Jap Subs, but #1 does has SPFX. I'm also trying to get the DVDR for Clone Wars that has English, Spanish, 2 Commentary tracks, & extras. Not sure about subs.

Which DVDR are you talking about? Jynks, the 'Making of' 2 DVDR set I have, or the Clone Wars one I'm trying to get? None of the ones I have/am getting are on eMule.
