dont worry u wont hear me arguing about scream coz i think its a big fat hairy bollock bag of wank too, i hate scream its terrible, its meant to be a homage to slasher films or something isnt it? except its absolutely so shit any self respecting slasher (hell even freddy) would be offended at having such a piss poor attempt at honouring them as the scream trilogy

well...I thought it was pretty funny. "liver alone" & "you hit me with a phone. dick!" but new nightmare aside, it really made it difficult to follow the basic horror formula (which is as played-out as teen comedies). I wouldn't call it a send-up or homage so much as a late 90s reflection on the genre. iunno. I thought it was very well done. the plot was so basic, it was on par with any Friday the 13th, but that's the point. it was slasher-by-the-numbers that purposely made fun of the genre. "hey, there's a serial killer on the loose, let's throw a party!" "hey, why don't I crawl through the cat door" or "nice knife. mind if I walk my stomach into it?" or maybe "hey, there's a serial killer with a jones for me. why don't I fuck my boyfriend at my best friend's house. that always works." I much prefer that kind of artistic response than, say, the collection of 2nd tier late show skits mashed together and called Scary Movie or Not Another Teen Movie.

now to bring back the matrix link, reloaded and revolutions may have been major disappointments, but they pale in comparison to the shitstorm that was scream 2 & 3. the first one takes the genre apart and then they try to...what? put it back together? move on, dude! at least matrix sequels had lots of :matrix: :matrix: :matrix:

I saw lawrence fishburn in biker boyz (which I really liked), but I *laughed out loud* for a sec in this scene where he stands up to face down his son and puts his hand behind his back like he does throughout the matrix. the poor guy is never gonna play another card in his life.
