talking about Hulk here, why did this movie didn't do so well?

I think because it wasn't an all in all action movie like Spiderman or X-Men
It was mainly focused on drama and characters which I think was very good.

nah i think you'll find it was more coz it was about as enjoyable as a hammond organ recital with rimmer or looking through his collection of victorian lampposts

I thought he did batman year one series but it looks like he did Legends of the Dark Knight and Dark Knight Returns that kinda revitalized the franchise after they done had bruce wayne retire and made other spidey-clone-spidey mistakes that marvel made with the spidey mythology.

Most famous for Sin City comic. Also wrote Robocops 2 & 3. I thought he created the character, but it looks like that honor belongs to michael Miner. In any case, he's the</i> Robocop man when it comes to comics. And, of course, he established himself in the writing elite with Batman. He also did 300 (Spartans during the Persian War at Thermapylae), but I've only read the first issue.

Like most comicbook writers, he's done a whole lot of stuff for various companies/trademarks over the years.

Superman??? My GOD.. here is a old review I made of Superman for fileheaven...

Well JEEZUS H CHRIST'S FESTY TESTES!!!!!!!

I've just watched Superman 1 "special edition" And I was gobsmacked to discover that it was truly unwatchable. Seriously, I had't been that bored since I tried to watch the Star Wars Holiday Special sober.

Total Goonies effect - that being the effect of watching a movie you loved as a kid only to discover that it is in fact a steaming pile of mad woman's shit on a urine soaked cardigan complete with a cheesy winking Koala bear in an akubra hat motif.

Absolutely nothing happens. 1hr28min into the movie "Superman" has achieved the following:

1) Given us a bit of full frontal child pornography work as he climbs out of his space ship

2) Outrun a train in an embarrassingly laughable manner achieved by the wizard like technical effect of lifting him in the air by his underpants, getting him to thrash his legs a bit and hitting the fast forward button on the remote.

3) Caught a robber

4) Rescued a pussycat from a tree

5) Caught another robber

6) Gone on a date

That's it. Ok. So his planet explodes and he catches a helicopter...but yawn on.

Mario Puzo is a total hack. And anyone who disagrees should read the following exerpt from the movie.

I'll set the scene. I'm fucking bored. And Lois and Superman are falling in love.

This is when Superman takes Lois (possibly played by the world's ugliest leading lady EVER) on a joyflight. During said flight of love, Lois thinks aloud some "poetry" in a really slow, coma inducing delivery style.

Please enjoy AN ODE TO SUPERMAN by Mario Puzo, shit author and talentless idiot, as read by Margo Kidder, poor fool doomed to play the character of Lois Lane.

Can you read my mind?
Do you know what it is that you do to me?
I don't know who you are
Just a friend from another star

(I'm not joking....this scene goes for about 15mins...hang on it gets worse)

Here I am like a kid out of school
holding hands with a God
I am a fool
will you look at me
Quivering
like a little girl shivering

You can see right through me
Can you read my mind?
Can you picture the things I'm thinking of?
Wondering why you are all the wonderful things that you are

You can fly!!!!
You belong in the sky
You and I belong to each other
If you need a friend
I'm the one to fly to
If you need to be loved
Here I am
read my mind.

Holy fuck. I think I prefer Fabio's poetry. No wonder Margo Kidder hit the bottle, went nuts and spent the better part of a decade tied to a chair in a padded room. You can really see the strain taking its toll on the poor woman. By the end of the film, the metaphorical lobotomy she's been through has given her the appearnace of a women who's taken a few marital lessons from Mike Tyson.

Now my mate... bought this dvd...I have to ask, did he actually watch it? I sat there in a state of shock. He told me that he thought this film was a) good and b) better than the sequel.

Well, my friend, allow me to leave the final say to my dear old mother

"Mike's taste is in his bum"
My mum.

i still say the best batman is the 60s series :D adam west & burt ward will forever be the dynamic duo elite hehe, incidently last movie watched - Return to the Batcave - The Misadventures of Adam & Burt, made in 2002 very worth a watch if for pure comedy reasons at adam west acting more senile then ever, especially the little nods towards the 60s series

Watched 'Blade 2' again. It's actually an OK watch.

Also went and saw 'King Arthur' & 'AnchorMan'. KA was so so. Interesting if nothing else. Didn't like how they screwed around with the Arthurian mythology, like Lancelot die before Arthur married Gwenavere. I did like how they explained how Arthur removed Excalibur from the stone. AM was just a silly cheesy movie. Most people I talked with didn't like it one bit. I did. But the best part was in the end credits when Brick was talking. I was busting up so loud in the theater.

Started watching 'The Fifth Element' again tonight, but since I have to open in the AM, I'm off to bed. Not gonna get enough sleep before work.

cool there's a DVD at last!! where did you get the rips?

Is it a complete series or one of those f*cking anthology crapfests? By the way you said Season 1 (ahem... surely you mean series 1 max? What kind of an englishman are you? Next you'll be spelling colour wrong and using Z (and calling them Zees)) I assume they've done the right thing and released the first series :)

its pronounced Zed, and dont worry spud i call british things series as the definition of a series the 6 episode things we do, but a season is a 20 average thing like americans have, yeah its season 1 all one 1 dvd, i got the dvd from bit torrent, it was on suprnova

incidently from what i hear from friends who grew up in america in american schools the spelling is actually taught as honour and colour (correct spellings) then in later life it seems they just choose to get lazy and spell it as color and honor
