BULLSHIT the ending is the best part... remeber this is called "FIRST CONTACT" then entire point is raise awarness in the terrins about aliens and space races. It might be a thounsand years before they again contact us.. but no matter when they do there is a point in our history that we could refrence to enable us to understand what was going on.

The idea of her zipping though space and getting returned with no proof and all that is a mark of brilliance that only Sagan could think of. I LOVE this movie... that chick in it played by the lambster, well she is the ultimate girl man. Facinated by space, aliens, hyper intelegent, stong minded..

I honestly can not see why this movie is so panned by everyone... I think it is a top film one of my favs.

lmao, jynks I can't possibly agree one bit, every moment of this film is loathesome, and the ending is one of the worst I've ever seen :o If i'd have paid any money I'd have been even more pissed. I promptly gave it a 1 on imdb. One of the worst movies I've seen, or at least that I can recall, and definitely up for an oscar in the crappest ending category.

We have travelled millions of miles... and well we are stood on an inconvincing beach and to save a bit of cash... I'm your dad! rah.

I think south park summed the movie up with the violent vomiting bit  Personally, I think it stank, and refute the bullshit... ending is terrible, the alien appears as her dad? lmao, i think that summed up how crappy the movie was in that one scene. Only thing that seemed remotely interesting was the 'do you believe in god bit' and justify the project, etc. Even that's naff. Its so cheesey and such a copout from anything good at every single possible moment, I can't see how you can't see why everyone thinks its crap  imo of course

Sorry Spud/Poli, but I'm going to agree w/ Jynks on this. This WAS a good movie IMHO. It's one of the few I can watch anytime.

Same way other people here like so many cheesy/crappy films. It's personal taste, take it or leave it.
