Out of This World (a.k.a. Another World) (1991) (PC)

Weird and wonderful Sci-fi games. Mark clearly in brackets after which console it is for, if it is a pc game, do not bother.

ed2k: Out_of_this_world_(Another_World)_-_1991.zip  [1.07 Mb] [Stats]

One of my alltime favorite games. Everything was so perfect in this game, no other designers have yet to reach it's level. And it was seamingly made by one person alone!!!

Perfect blend of action/adventure/puzzle that came years ahead of it's time. Even has a non-linear storyline (how many other 1991 games had that?).

Yes! Out of this World was a great game. Unfortunately, I never got it to work under the new OSs. Any luck running under NT/2k/XP on this release?

Also Flashback and Fade to Black. I'd played Flashback, but not Fade to Back, the sequel.

When people ask me what my favorite games are I just answer this, Full Throttle, NFS Porsche and Day of the Tentacle.

Ah yes, Full Throttle was another good one. I bought the 'Gone Jackels' album since they did the major songs for that game. I'm so disappointed that the sequel 'Full Throttle: Hell on Wheels' was canceled after years of 'in the works'.

I tried to get that Gone Jackels album, but couldn't find it! Would really apreciate if you're release it!

Actually, I thought the 3D stuff & character drawings I saw looked pretty dang good.

Hmm... I might be able to swing that. Not right away as my MB took a dump on me Sat night.

i guess you have to use dosbox to play does old pc games on your gighz winxp peecee's

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1

if you want the real look of the game, connect your pc to your tv. the vga monitor look will just ruin your retro feel....

not quite in teh same action style but i also used to enjoy point and click graphic adventure games, my favourite of all time is still monkey island and Beneath a steel sky

what did you all think about 'Heart of Darkness' then? It's kind of unofficial sequel done by the same guy. Ok game, but a shame it was aimed so much at kids. Incredibly nice cut scenes for it's age though!

Hey! What's the difference between the European and English release of both Heart of the Alien and Out of This World? I know that the dif for Another World is the diary that shows up in the intro. What about HOTA?

By the way, can someone send me those diary entries from the intro of Another World? I am REALLY curious as to what is in those diary entries.
