cross post from FH:

Prince of Persia (2010)
honestly, not bad. it has a PotC feel to it. of course it's a lot of ALADDIN with some LAST CRUSADE mixed in, but I was very wary of this thing. the accents are sort of funny (as with GLADIATOR, etc.), but I didn't have a problem with it. I mean...British English = archaic English for contemporary americans. actually a lot of solid acting in this (not shakespeare material mind you). I got a kick out of alfred molina. bottom line: it's nothing memorable, but it vastly exceeds expectations for a video game based movie. and you never know what you're gonna get with bruckheimer, but you can usually count on high production values. the back story could have used some work and there's a pretty obvious but not exactly logical deus ex machina.

Watching True Blood as the new season starts soon so I'd thought i'd refresh my mind to the plots in motion. Hoping for some epic gore and violance this season

it tries to walk a delicate line of placating to the TWILIGHT tweens and the deranged sociopaths who frequent hhah. a lot of tits helps immensely (ala SPARTACUS). but yeah, it teeters on the edge, threatening to go into full twilight mode at any moment. I think it will simply for economic/commercial reasons.

True Blood is nothing like I expected, its HBO so its pretty much gore and sex for the most part. I suppose it could burst into drama but so far its decided to focus on serial killers, hate groups and weird ass dieties.

For example, NSFW:
http://www.addictedtocelebrities.com/wp ... -blood.jpg
http://www.bondaerotica.com/0politicall ... bdsex8.jpg

You'll see tit shots about 3 times an episode :) Gore is pretty good too, vampires exploded into a splatter of blood and entrails.

I've never seen twilight but i imagine your are talking out of your ass with comparisons, i imagine they are very little alike, espcially reading the plot synopsis. I don't read anything about blood, gore, suicide bombers, orgies, sycopathic dieties, etc.

the link to the second picture doesn't work, i don't claim to have ever seen twilight nor true blood, but after hearing so much about twilight from fuckheads at work i just find it impossible to find any interest in modern vampires whatsoever, back to Hammer Horror i go :D

hmm, try http://www.bondagerotica.com/0political ... bdsex8.jpg

hammer horror is more cliched than modern horror imo; the only one i can watch anymore is The Fearless Vampire Killers which parodies the others.

I'm pretty sure Twilight is going to be nothing like True Blood, but I have zero interest in twilight.
