[rec] 2 is a good sequel, it carries on from the first almost immediately, and it has a lot of ups and downs but its pretty solid. Its better when its with the swat team at the beginning, and it goes the supernatural route which is hit and miss.

currently making my way through PANDORA HEARTS (anime). it's a loose ALICE IN WONDERLAND series (not really an adaptation but more than similar in theme).

saw Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND last week. it's actually a sequel to the "beloved" story (very similar to speilberg's HOOK). I liked it. I have no special love for the original. this was fun. basically, if you like Burton's work (except perhaps for BIG FISH), you'll like this too. that has nothing to do with the source material. it's the mood/tone/atmosphere, direction, etc.

finally, watched SHE'S OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE yesterday, and I liked it. nobody who reads this will like it, however. why? because it's very similar to KNOCKED UP, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, and ZOMBIELAND. I, however, enjoyed them all. as I did WEDDING CRASHERS and probably will THE HANGOVER if I ever get around to watching it.

i couldn't stand knocked up, i seem to recall something about mary was ok and zombieland i'm gonna watch later today, along with survival of the dead, forgetting sarah marshall will never be watched because that giant puffcock russell brand is in it.

I did however watch Romy & Michele's high school reunion the other day, Mainly because i find Mira Sorvino so hot, though it turned out to be a film you can enjoy without having to turn your brain on

mira sorvina *is* hot, but iirc, she looks like an 80s hooker in that movie. and I'm talking about a hooker, not a high end prostitute here. street corner hooker with caked on make up and crazy hair. :outsider:

I still haven't seen the shaky cam romero zombie movie. I did like LAND OF THE DEAD though.

Its actually a inferior rip off of American McGee's Alice that both Tim Burton and Wes Craven were attached to direct at one point.

American McGee's Alice is getting a second rate treatment though:

That said American McGee's Alice is influenced by a plethora of other sources, but its funny seeing Alice doing the rounds, then burton pretty much doing the same thing.

i found every ep of the Ferris Bueller tv show from 1990 with Charlie Schlatter (the short annoying gay one from diagnosis murders later seasons.... no not the lead.... no not the cop..... no not the black woman... ok so they are all annoying).

Anyway i can see why the Ferris show only ran 13 episodes, and frankly i'm suprised it even lasted that long, and even got made at all, i mean it was made 4 or so years after the movie so it's not even just a quick cash in job.

It plays itself as saying the movie was infact based on the life of the real Ferris Bueller, hence he chainsaws a standee to peices in the pilot.

Oh and Jennifer Aniston plays Ferris' sister.... a role i imagine she is very keen to forget.

It's one of those shows that is so rare because of it's shitness that nobody has ever really heard of it, so you can say to fans of the film "yeah i've seen the tv show too" and they will be all "wow there's a tv show? awesome, your so cool for seeing it" and then you agree and pray they never actually ever see the show and realise what a huge steaming turd it is.

Oh also started watching the first seasons of both Cheers and Two & a half men.... not charlie sheens greatest, if such a thing exists

watched Survival of the Dead, and Zombieland yesterday, i quite enjoyed both, though for a film called Zombieland i felt there was a severe lack of zombies, though i did enjoy "THE" moment when someone appears, anyone who has seen it will know which bit i mean.

Watched both in HD along with HDTV Caps of all 3 Crocodile Dundee movies, i've never seen the 3rd one from 2001 (CD IN LA) and to be honest i regret now having seen it, i enjoyed the first one, the second had it's moments but still wasn't great as i remembered it, but then things like that from childhood rarely are.

What else did i watch...... oh yeah Season 2 of Two & a Half Men

and... i know i watched some other films but i can't for the life of me remember what

This thread originally started as a "last movie you watched" thread, now it's sort of more "last anything movie/tv/movie/comic/book" related you did

How To Train Your Dragon
regular ole 2D and enjoyed every bit of it. didn't much like the dragon designs, but they didn't bother me either. this is a solid animated movie. don't expect animation for adults disguised as animation for children (e.g., SHREK or INCREDIBLES); it's not there. it's more in the market of 9 or IGOR, and it's well better than both (in terms of plot execution cuz 9's animation/atmosphere was aimed at an older audience).
