jynks there was a game based on the film back in the day, and i believe dinky was saying he enjoyed both the movie and the experience of playing the game in the arcades at the time.

no. I don't remember much about the movie. but I played the game all the time, along with the star wars x-wing game, at chuck e. cheese's. it was the highlight of every birthday party for my part. skeet ball was fun too. so was that basketball game, but I didn't like that they used smaller than regulation rims. :epic:

was FINALLY able to get out to a movie today...

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE

I've read mixed reviews, but i have to admit that it's a good movie. The 3rd movie is still easily the best crafted movie. but I can understand why fans of the franchise would say this is the best yet. it deals with mature subject matter in the way that the first really dark movie did (2 movies ago, I think? it was the first appearance of voldy). but it didn't paint by the numbers quite so much. I also understand the complaints about it being too long and containing too much of - as fred savage would say - the kissy stuff. it certainly does as far as an all-ages movie is concerned. but I'd say the 'hit you over the head with a hammer' love storyline(s) were more or less spot on for the target audience. nevertheless, it can get frustrating to watch tweens play at tweenie romance when there's more action-oriented fantasy and danger afoot. and ffs, the movie is called "the half-blood prince." at no point is he - or even discovering who he is - a paramount concern in the movie. it's there. ok. but as an after thought. after dumbledore's quest (understandable) and after all the myriad love triangles (unforgivable). and there is zero significance given to the name in the first place. that's poor form, but I (perhaps foolishly) attribute that to the splitting of the source material? In any case, this is done competently. if you're into the series already, you'll prolly feel that it is epic. I thought george lucas was going to sue somebody during the end scene, but I suppose that's what you get when you cut a story in half. I'm assuming this was from the book that they cut into two movies? if not, then the ending is incompetent, and the tweeny lovey dovey shite is truly horrible.

watched Innerspace again last night in HD, 720p i believe it was, it was ok but didn't seem as enjoyable as the first time i saw it back on VHS , i think that's due to the fact Martin short is the worlds worst actor, though meg ryan was vastly cute in it

CHERI. by the director or writer of DANGEROUS LIASONS and starring michelle pfiffer. that's pretty much all it has going for it. art house flick. starts off kinda funny. gets tedious and sleep inducing after 20 mins.

Last night i watched the remake of The Land That Time Forgot, it was awful, and i mean really awful. I mean you all know i like cheesy b-movies, but this was just bad, the original is an excellent film, but this was just bad.... not even any tits on show  though there was a hottie in hotpants.

The effects weren't bad to be fair for what it was, though what i liked about the original was it was vague regarding where the island was. But the remake states clearly Bermuda Triangle

Watching Tyrannosaurus Azteca now, which is better, but that's not saying much. In the 15th century cortez' scout party encounter an aztec tribe who worship hearts to a t-rex thinking it is a god, the spanish kill one of the t-rex only to discover there is a female one, who is a little pissed off

INGLORIOUS BASTERDS (2009)
I liked it. It's well better than the KILL BILLS and JACKIE BROWN. The one actor - forgot his name but he plays an SS officer - was brilliant. farcical. not for history buffs in any way but...well...meh. I enjoyed it. would watch again. wanna see DISTRICT 9, THE GOODS, and EXTRACT. and still need to see G. I. JOE cuz against all my instincts and intuitions, people aren't bashing the hell out of it. :?

most reviews I've read are easy on it and compare it favorably to the other sci-fi/comic bookish movies this summer. aside from ST. I realize that's no compliment considering the plethora of blah blockbusters and turds this summer, but G. I. JOE looked to me to be the absolute worst by a landslide, so if it's better than TRANSFORMERS 2, ok. not unexpected. but if it's better than T4, WOLVERINE, and HP, then it's well far and above my expectations.

so grain of salt that "not bad reviews" bit. :wacky:

ah heh, you know what's even worse then T4 the movie? T4 the game, its absolutely dire, Though, on a suprise note, i played a demo of the wolverine origins game and actually found it quite enjoyable for what it was (essentially a hack n slash 3rd person), but it had quite a few nice touches and set peices that made it more enjoyable then most movie based games. Don't get me wrong it's not amazing, but like you said about G.I. Joe, it's suprisingly better then it's genre of movie based games would usually lead you to expect

Anyway i watched Green Lantern - First Flight on a 1080p untouched bluray today, and enjoyed it, i think in a lot of ways the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) movies are vastly superior to their live action counterparts, but then i also class Green Lantern as one of my fave (if not #1 fave) superhero.

Also watched Escape from L.A. the other day, i like that film, i know a lot of people don't but i do, incidently the dvd of that is better quality then the bluray of escape from new york, which was given an appalling transfer, the dvd and HDTV screenings of it are better then the actual bluray of it, really badly done.

Also watched 1080P Bluray of Breakfast club.... quality john hughes film.

I watched something else aswell but i can't for the life of me remember what so it was probably shit.
