 blue twink... do you know what a twink is? i'm guessing so by the :fruity: afterwards :wacky:

It's unlikely Halo Wars will come out for anything else due to the fact ensemble studios no longer exists, unless a seperate microsoft games studio takes it over and ports it, which they might i guess, id no, don't really care, as much as i enjoy ensembles rts i don't really care much for halo, ooh scifi fps aliens fighting humans it's so old now i can't be bothered with it (this opinion is subject to change at the next fun scifi fps)

halo wars could be utter trash, the developer just fired a load of people as part of microsoft's culling of staff earlier this year. edit: snap!

If you aren't aware, the developer is Ensemble Studios who were responsible for the fantastic Age of Empires II but honestly, haven't really made a top tier strategy since imo. AoE3 i didn't like half as much.

Great news about RE5 on the pc, i've just ordered one:

I liked AoM. I played it pretty "hard." the only things I've worn out more are MEDIEVAL TW, ROME TW, SW BATTLEGROUNDS and AoE 1/2...and maybe STARCRAFT.

then again, I make no mystery of the fact that the settings are what appeal to me more than the gameplay. so if I get decent gameplay and a setting (i.e., SW) that I like, then I don't care if they basically copied the AoE engine. so that kinda explains BATTLEGROUNDS and AoM. I guess. iunno.

by comparison, I think WARCRAFT 3 and the LotR clone of it (War of the Ring?) are shit. And I was never impressed with the stuff they did with EMPIRE AT WAR, BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTHs, or WARHAMMER. highly detailed units but boring gameplay. like an attempt to combine AoE combat units with TW units or something. iunno. bleah.

civil service exam tomorrow. I'm hoping to become a 911 emergency call operator.

yeah the pc port of resident evil 4 was atrocious, the best part was trying to update it, they fucked it up so the eu patch would update but then the exe wouldnt work, because it updated it to require the ASIAN updated exe, and even better is they never bothered to issue a fix for this.....

I rank Age of Empires 2 as one of my favourite games of all time, i love the settings and the time period, i think AoE3 had some good things like home city shipments and so on, but i didn't rank it as highly as 2, also AoE2 was the first actual game i played on a PC, i had played demos before and ones i borrowed off friends but it was the first game i actually went out and bought.

AoM to me was nothing more then a cheap novelty filler game, in the same way 3d realms released Duke Nukem Manhattan Project as a filler game before Duke Nukem Forever (incidently rumours are that's actually coming by the end of next year!), and star wars gallactic battlegrounds was just a cheap cashin job, i think ti was that sw game anyway, the one thats aoe with star wars?

yep. SW BATTLEGROUNDS was SW with the AoE engine. and you know what? that's PERFECT. they added flying stuff (but that was around in STARCRAFT). massive massive SW battles. I loved that stuff. I waited my whole life for that. (always wanted tons of troopers, etc.).

nobody liked AoM. I liked it, but it was not a good multiplayer game, which doesn't bode well for an RTS after AoE.

iirc, both SW and AoM had queue fixes that bothered me in AoE2, and I know AoE2 improved that same feature over AoE.

anyway, doesn't EMPIRE AT WAR look just like LotR: BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH? I like the graphics, but the gameplay is like slowmo compared to AoE and Starcraft.

that's because empire at war is a totally different style of rts to the AoE series

yep. I don't much like that "style" or format or whatever.

watched BSG finale. didn't expect much. didn't get much. DOLLHOUSE was pretty good. it's a good series when it doesn't focus on eliza dushku all the time. no offense to her as an actress or a pretty face, but it's the intermingling of other people's arcs that works on this show.

TERMINATOR was new and decent. would have been better than decent, but the stuff on the sub and the "negotiation" episode were overly cryptic and reeked of not knowing what they're doing.

anyway...lemme know how EMPIRES TW is. I was unimpressed with MEDIEVAL 2. not because it was a bad game. I hardly played it. I just felt "been there. done that" with the setting and troops and such.

Its been rated as one of the best games ever by some, and pretty much a top notch game from what I've read:
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platfor ... retotalwar

Everyone rated it +90, except all those piss-ant console-friendly retard four word reviews you get in the back of the beano.

Video Review:
http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/958390/em ... 22709.html

I'll come back with my thoughts when my pc components arrive, and i've got everything built and configured :)

Rockstar Games has announced that a third instalment in the Max Payne series is currently in the works.

Being developed by Rockstar Vancouver, the game will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at some point during winter 2009.

In the series, Max Payne is a retired New York City police detective who attempts to avenge his family's death in a world of corruption and violence.

Sam Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games, said: "We're starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game."

He continued: "This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever.

"We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation."

Last year, Mark Wahlberg starred in a movie version of the game, which was directed by John Moore.

finally caught up on smallville, Dinky, ever since you told me Tori Hagface spelling was in it i just couldn't watch it, turns out that was one of the best eps of the whole series, ruined bya tacky shit ending.

Anyway been playing ps3 games a lot recently still, resident evil 5, wwe: legends of wrestlemania, sega megadrive ultimate collection HD, and got mirrors edge yesterday but havent had time to play it yet

eh? she just randomly shows-up out of nowhere and does the same exact thing she did the last time: blackmails clark with his secret to further her journalism career. having doomsday kill her was the only good thing that came out of the ep. it pushed him further to the doomsday side and got the shit rid of her character.

finished another anime: RED GARDEN. was ok. animation is pita. way too many loose strings (as in stories that are started and then unresolved/fleshed-out). filling in those hole would have made for a tremendous little series, and they aren't difficult writing issues - tremendous despite the off putting animation. so it's disappointing in that way.

latest episode of LIFE. I'm bummed. this has become another, slightly wittier, CSI. no. nix that. I don't think I've seen an episode of CSI all the way through to judge that. but what I am saying is that charlie crews is losing his quirk and, quite frankly, the violent rage that wells beneath his buddhist facade. that's been slowly eroding away this season. :(

haven't seen a movie in a couple weeks. maybe something new today? last week, WATCHMEN went from three screens to one at the local cineplex (13 screens). and I believe there's only two or three showings per day. not complaining or gloating. just thought "wow. that was quick." when I looked over the listings a couple days ago. and it had done well the first week. didn't keep tabs on second, but the sharp decrease in screens on the third while shite like MISS MARCH was still showing felt odd.

dinky what i mean is the first time i had no warning she was in it til she appeared onscreen, whereas this time you mentioned it before i saw the ep so it put me off watching ti for a while, but yeah doomsday killing her was good
