I liked IN BRUGES.

watched the latest HEROES last night. another solid (but unspectacular) ep.

finished MORIBITO: GUARDIAN OF THE SACRED SPIRIT (anime). enjoyed it. I clearly have a preference for heroic (fantasy) epics.

DEATHNOTE is good.

BLACK LAGOON is ok.

ERGO PROXY is also ok but less ok than BLACK LAGOON.

haven't seen the others.

edit: something I like and also dislike about anime is that everything is 13 or 26 eps. occassionally they'll double up like FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST or TWELVE KINGDOMS. but usually they're very limited series. That's good because it leads to a nice, concentrated story. but on something with such a rich, epic scope (like TWELVE KINGDOMS), it's just not enough space to tell the story.

ok so last night, i finally gave in and watched my movie (Max Payne)...... where's hitler when you need someone exterminating??? that movie was a big pile of rancid maggot infested dogshit, it had no idea where it was going or what it was gonna do to get itself there, so just ended up throwing in random things to make fans of the games go "aah a link to the games" except no1 would do that whose a fan, instead they would scream "FUCKING DIE YOU INCOMPOTENT PIECE OF SHIT!!"

Oh yeah another thing is, they kind of fucked around all the characters too, and of course they had to implement the usual iraq political bullshit to make the government go and rim their arseholes, except that was tacked on, nothing is really explained in much detail

Max's own backstory in the beginning gives you the feeling they didnt really know how to do it, as all it is consists of 2 guys in a corridor, one says to the other "his wife and kid were murdered by junkies, that's his story" and that's all you get for the next 45 minutes, until clearly someone in the crew actually played the game and said "ok so this is his more in detail backstory, we can film it now"

Gah i don't want to talk about this fucking shitty disappointment of a film anymore

Conclusion...... i would actually rather watch an Uwe Boll movie.... seriously

it was still a disappointment to some extent, the only reason i've only got round to watching it now was out of apprehension based on other video game based movies, not necessarily on the movie itself

got another update about the copyright extension thing

Dear Sound Copyright petitioner,

With the European Parliament set to vote on 23 March on extending the term of copyright for sound recordings (1), key European experts opposing the extension have released a new letter to MEPs warning of the dangers (2). Highlighting that the costs to the public are likely to exceed €1 billion the academics warn:

"If Europe wishes to keep its ability to innovate, it must not lock in the current industry structure at a moment of great technological change, it must not inhibit digital creators and archives in the exploration of music - music which has been paid for once already, during the existing term!

"The public will not be fooled. If copyright law, cynically, departs from its purpose, piracy becomes an easy option.

"We urge the European Parliament, and the governments of member states of the European Union, to consider carefully the independent evidence on copyright term extension, and reject the Directive in its proposed form."

Your MEPs need to know that their voters are concerned and paying attention - use our guide to lobbying your MEPs (3) and a briefing pack (4).

We can’t overstate it: get in touch with your MEPs (5) now and use our new banners and buttons (6) to spread the word.

Yours, the Sound Copyright Team

lessee...HEROES was new monday. watched that. nothing else was new, so I watched more anime: BLACK BLOOD BROTHERS and I'm up to ep 18 of CODE GEASS: LotR. BBB was watchable, but there's no compelling reason to watch it, if that makes sense. CODE GEASS is a weird hybrid of ROBOTECH and DEATH NOTE. If you enjoyed the first half of DEATH NOTE, then you ought to enjoy all (or most - I still have some eps to go) of CODE GEASS s1.

resident evil 5 arrived today (a day before release) so i've been playing that most of the day after work :D, Also resident evil - degeneration soundtrack arrived, so a happy day for me all in all :)

oh and i watched the latest 3 eps of the big bang theory last night

oh yeah and i found out a couple days back that capcom have announced another resident evil game for the wii, this time called The Darkside Chronicles, it's going to be similar to umbrella chronicles from lsat year, except solely set in Raccoon city during resident evil 2, and will feature a brand new storyline and characters to add more depth to the storyline..... though i'm pretty sure it's been seen from every point imaginable, but for a RE fanboy like me it's all good, preordered legends of wrestling for my ps3 aswell

so how good is it? There's a whopping 2 console games I want to play; fable 2 and RE5 and I don't think that justifies buying a 360.

it's pretty good, the most enemies on screen ever, but it does feel like it's going more towards a shooter type of game, rather then survival horror, ie: there's no puzzles what so ever etc, and your essentially just shooting your way onwards, which i suppose technically you were in the other games, but they had puzzles to solve and so on aswell, oh and the AI is shit in single player, the AI was actually better in the demo!

By the way RE5 is coming out on pc anyway so you only want 1 console game

Incidently i always thought you had an xbox? or was that an original one?

oh wow!

An eventual PC version of Capcom's Resident Evil 5 (PS3, 360) is quite likely, going by comments made by producer Jun Takeuchi and the studio's past history.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Takeuchi revealed that the survival horror title is being primarily developed on the PC and then ported over to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Capcom previously used a similar setup for the development of Devil May Cry 4, which began life as a PS3 exclusive but was eventually moved to Xbox 360 and PC as well.

That's great news!

I hear Uwe Boll is boycotting that youtube video on the grounds that it's edited better than any of his movies. :wacky:

just watched this week's CLONE WARS, BSG, DOLLHOUSE, TERMINATOR. CW and BSG were penultimate episodes. I know there's more DOLLHOUSE left though. TERMINATOR ought to be winding down soon. they were all decent eps. I wouldn't lose sleep about missing any of them.

thursday was a new SMALLVILLE. tori spelling really is a dog. the show sucks, and I cringe every time they say "red blue blur." I keep watching, however, so I must be a masochist.

LIFE was new Wed. the female partner is definitely pregnant. previews for next week advertise gabrielle union joining the cast. season has to be nearly over by now, though. not sure what's up there. I always enjoy LIFE. heh. I hate the person who chose that series name. you know he did it for moments like this. :wacky:

i remember when life first started i downloaded like 12 eps or something and was all ready to watch then thought "fuck this i can't be arsed" and deleted them all without watching them, it's all the fault of that other cop show that was around at the same time set in new orleans, being so shit it put me off cop shows for a bit.

oh well another day i shall spend playing re5 heh, oh and remember... you need to wake up and get me out of the business, and away from ketchup and your little brother!

oh incidently somebody actually gave me postal on dvd yesterday, so.... yeah... ebay time
