I don't see it dinky, its not been wildly all over the place, he's just been warped by having his wife killed/finding out he's a cylon

his character is fubar

The guy shaved head and walked round like a looney for a couple of episodes, he's definitely 'fubar', but not broken from a writing sense. his core moral values remained pretty solid, he's just had his loyalty redefined.

latest HEROES and FATE: STAY / NIGHT (anime). the former was decent. the latter was solid without being great but also not bad - still the usual anime hijinks, however.

this week's BSG was decent. regarding Galen, they've gone a long way in salvaging his character, but the (conflicted) choices he makes when pressed also seem to suggest that the unflinching vote to leave the fleet was out of character. Starbuck remains starfuct. TERMINATOR was horrid. and for no good reason. just a complete waste of an episode. the whole thing revolved around one gag, but neither "reality" was more or less interesting than the other. bottom line: it felt like the whole "who are the final 5 cylons?" stuff that BSG put us through. a ton of misdirection structured around a fairly pointless premise. watched CLONE WARS and LIFE. It looks like the female lead went and got preggers irl. a bit of a fubar plot device to get around that (alas, no time machine). DOLLHOUSE had some hot chicks in it, but nothing great. I'm giving it a few more eps cuz it looks like the Helo arc might develop into something. if nothing happens after that, I think imma have to toss it.

watched a really great medieval fantasy anime called BERSERK. I'm a geek for medeivalizing fantasy, so I tend to watch anything in hopes for at least a quick fix. this turned out to be superior in every way. it's truly an animated series for adults. pulls no punches. the story is tight. very tight. every episode counts. It reminded me of the positive aspects of CLAYMORE (except the latter couldn't keep the same intensity and focus that the former does). Started watching MAI HiME by accident, but it's only 13 ep series, so I think I'll stick with it as it's drawn well and moderately entertaining.
