@whedon, i take it all fucking back about trying something that isn't a) wonder woman b) space pirates.
Stick to wonder woman and space pirates and stop dilluting our brains with innate shit.

heh. no. I hadn't remembered that. but now I'm more concerned. :?

watched latest DOLLHOUSE, TERMINATOR, BSG. TERMINATOR was prolly the best of the bunch. 'nuff said about DOLLHOUSE. BSG has a habit of resetting slowly after high tension eps, but the problem is that the high tension lasted 2 eps, and the meandering lasts twice as long. Baltar is talking to his mental number 6 again. that's cool. the complete 180 of that 5th cylon when she saw Ty was annoying and soapish. And the little pow wow they held about "should I stay? or should I go?" rang a bit hollow seeing that Athena and Hera weren't there. meanwhile, Galen stayed on Galactica basically as a suicide guerilla two eps ago, and now he's voting to fly away AFTER becoming the chief engineer again. and I mean he was unhesitating in his decision. starbuck and her magic dead other is now completely off the radar (again!). wtf? this series is so frackin' uneven. and there aren't a lot of eps left to be meandering around. :?

I actually like TERMINATOR and think it's a good - not great - show. but it's not saying much about the other two that I rate this one the best of the bunch. :outsider:

 dinky maybe i'm becoming a bad influence haha

I can't help but get the feeling Joss Whedons in a mardy, because i read he thinks Dollhouse is his best idea in years and would be amazing, and everyone hates it

Doesn't the new Terminator movie come out this summer? your pre-thoughts on it dinky?

although christian bale has made some absolutely brilliant movies (on and off the radar), I think the new TERMINATOR movie is a travesty. it should never have been made. T3 was likewise superfluous. It's the kind of "sequel" stuff that belongs...well...on TV - like TSSC. in other words, I'll be in line for the midnight show.

 fair play, though isn't this a prequel of sorts where all the actions set in the apocalyptic future? or has there been a rewrite?

uh...I guess I could see the "prequel" angle, except it's chronologically T4, following the events of T3, which followed T2, which followed T1. so no. it's not a prequel in any different way from all the other movies. sounds like a marketing ploy. I don't think there will be any time travel in T4, and that will be good for it.

heh. doesn't matter. personally, it's a sequel all the way. john connor cannot be john connor without T1. he doesn't need T2 or T3. so you could just call it a sequel to T1. but it's clearly a sequel. the only way this could possibly be a prequel would be if the john connor character a) isn't kyle reese's child, thereby rewriting the events of T1 and b) he isn't in any way shape or form prepared for sky net but, rather, is just a survivor who "succeeds." I can't think of any other scenario that would make it a prequel (i.e., work by itself without the events of one or all the others).

edit: forgot why I came on here. watched FOOL'S GOLD. it was entertaining enough. don't get me wrong: mindless and stupid. but I knew what I was getting into. kate hudson looks really amazing. I didn't really like her when she was younger, but wow. now. hot mamma!

who cares? It is not like the guys that make these films give a fuck what fans think. Just think of it as a reboot and take w/e comes in stride.

Dinky i think your right, they can't really make any more films in this series that actually pushes for anything new since T2, i wonder if arnie will have a cameo in the tscc at some point in the future? i don't think he will and it's probably for the best but you know what movie and tv execs are like, they'll try for anything regardless of him being governor.... or as tshirt companies would make you believe the governator , doesn't he have a cameo in that movie thats coming out that's got all the 80s action stars in like arnie, sly stallone, jcvd and such?

hmm. haven't heard of BANANAS, but all woody allen films kinda blend together in my memory.

dunno about arnie doing a cameo, but it's not unusual for a political figure. I don't think he's allowed to be paid for such an appearance, however. but that's just speculation on my part.

Speaking of Christian Bale, I watched family guy and they did the funniest sketch i recall them ever doing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cns9l1Ld2rU

I'm watching X-files on and off and I'm at the point where it lost its way, it happened quite abruptly, the episodes became too quirky too often instead of dropping one into the mix every so often.

Battlestar I enjoyed still, I agree its all over the place and there's a lot of all uneveness but i think its clear that almost everyone in the series is lost; Tigh and Adama are raging alcoholics, the President is a coward that doesn't want to do squat yet keep her title, the cylons have no idea what's going on barring Brother John Cavil (Number One) who's completely warped; the final five are all over the shop; ellen is a bitch, Tigh is an idiot, I disagree with dinky on Galen... he seems completely sick of everything since his wife got murdered, tory had feaked out and gone all aryan. Starbuck is a fuck up. Lee Adama is a nobel tool that doesn't have anything to be nobel about. Everyone else is either dead, dying or inconsequential.

The real remaining beacon of light in the series is, and always has been Gaius Baltar. He's hilariously deranged, multidimensional, and is the only character that's shown progresion as a character. I hope they focus on him some more. Glad to see he's projecting again, that line about the guns was funny, ".... and guns! Bigger guns! Better Guns!"

The question with Battlestar is who is the boxed cylon? Did any of them survive the boxing (my guess is yes!), and is it going to be a familiar face?

You'd hope it would be Baltar, but then why doesn't Brother Cavil or ellen recognise him? Same goes for Zack who apparant'y is going to be in one of the remaining episodes, why doesn't ellen recognise/mention him?

hmmm, i don't see it. He didn't beg for his job back, he was given the job. His loyalty isn't there towards galactica like it is with tigh. I don't see him as being loyal to the humans any more than he is himself and the cylons. Not wanting harm to come of them doesn't equate to loyalty, which explains his helping during the insurrection, but remember, he was with and was helping Baltar there, the captain was along for the ride.

But maybe i'm forgetting some key character points of the last few episodes regarding his character that you've picked up on?

he went back into the bowels of the ship after he got baltar and adama to the escape shuttle. he's not as automatic as tigh or that psycho who killed his wife, almost everything he's done since realizing he's a cylon has been neutral or pro-human/galactica. offscreen, he stayed on the base ship after he was "outted" then came back as an ambassador (calling cylons "we"). tigh and adama called him on it, and by the end of the episode, he gave it up. then when he learned hot dog was the true father of his child, he continued to care for the kid. either they've cut A LOT of his story arc out of the aired eps, or his character is fubar.
