Upgrade to phpbb3

I've found an okay phpbb3 theme so will be migrating this site across to the same codebase as hhah.

Probably be down for an evening (Vancouver time) when I do this.

okay so its phpbb3. I need to:
* Tweak and fix quick reply
* Add pre/nfo css
* We need a banner, does anyone have any cgi/photoshop skills to whip up some space banners for the box above?
* Reindex search

The memory error is unrelated, trying to find out what is causing that... we got it the day before the upgrade too

just something epicly scifi that fits in with the theme; something that you look and think cool. Some fantasy / space banner that fits in with the look and feel.

I'm not a graphics person.

First try, and I just noticed I typed Sci-Fi Dead Donkey instead of SciFi Dead Donkey (how do you want it?) also the letters IMO need to be a bit brighter on the whiteside. Anyway:




IMO the first one is a bit better. I'll try to make a proper one somewhere tonight. Images of the first, fixed text and the transparancy of the second (so the already visible stars shine through) and I also am not to sure about the font I used for the website url. What's the one you used on the mainpage for the scifi.dead-donkey.com image (under site development)? Let me know what you people think

I'm afraid I don't recall the font i used, I just went through every font I had on that particular pc.

I usually use alien for 'scifi' text:

but it doesn't suit every circumstance.

While we are working on the theme spud.. can you remove the width on the overall header and replace it with a 85% or somthing like that.... kinda lame having this tny forum on my massive screen... much better imo if it scales to teh size of your browser window.

My 2 cents on Logo

• I think the font and all that is very cool
• Really like the "spaceship" thing zooming off on the left....
• Source image you are using for the nubular needs work
  • It is kind of dull and grey
  • It looks a little blurly.
  • There are three tiling lines, if not tiling then at least big ugly lines.
    • Between the F and the I in SCIFI
    • At the very far right.
    • The overlay image you used to do the nebular (I think it is a concreet or somthing) is not as big as the block, so on teh far left there is a strong line were teh overlay falls short.
    • 

All in all pretty good... basicly I am saying i woudl have a look for a new nebular image and then it is good to go.

You are right about the nebular, those lines are caused because of the 5/6 layers with different layer styles somewhat overlapping each other. I did that so it's easy to get a bit of colour in it. Had that already but thought the greys would look better with the new theme. I'll fix the tiling lines and will post two versions, 1 kinda the same as above and another with a bit more colours in the nebular. Thanks people appreciate the comments. Spit it out if you (don't) like it

lol, i'm retarded, i didn't realise that the image is 'truncated' for the small res!
banner changed, i'm using html to resize it atm but it needs to be less than 800 for people on 800x600 res.

I've stuck it at the top so we know what it looks like 'live'.

In the meantime I made a bunch of variations, non of 'em are < 800 px but that shouldn't be a big problem with most cause they can be resized easily. Let me know which one you prefer and with what resolution and stuff and i'll get on it a.s.a.p.
