yeah i can imagine wonder woman mythos being difficult to adapt to a more "modern" culture, they pulled it off pretty well in the justice league cartoon though, but then i guess they had more time to work on characters and so on

MAX...PAYNE. it was better than I thought it'd be. I'm undecided on whether I'd prefer it to have been supernatural or not. also have no idea about the source material, but the movie itself is something of a combination of THE PUNISHER, GLADIATOR, CONSTANTINE and (wait for it!) THE FIRM. :?

I wanted to see SEX DRIVE or THE DUCHESS, but they weren't being shown at reasonable times for me.

I really like mila kunis (SARAH MARSHALL, THAT 70'S SHOW, FAMILY GUY), but I'm not sure how I felt about her in this part. she kind of appears as a deus ex machina at the end, which was lame. anyway...she's cute, but not remotely intimidating and, thus, not much of a gangster.

there's not a lot to complain about in this movie, but there's also no compelling reason to go see it either.

did you just compliment me dinky :P

if you had played the max payne games you would know the whole angels and demons thing the movie appears to have going on isn't remotely to do with anything, they just appear to have wrote it in because they can

I thought there was demons and angels and stuff in the original game?

I also really dig that chick from sarah marshall. Is she in Maxx Payne?

Nvr heard fo SEX DRIVE...

the DUCHESS is only so so imo. There isn't a lot to complain about... apart from the fact that thejre is no story in this fim. It is like a "slice of life" sort of thing... rather than a story. Dull long and predictable.

no there's no demons and angels in max payne, what there is is a lot of super-drug Valkyr which causes people to see pretty weird shit, essentially the first max payne game features around max payne trying to bring down the punchinello mafia family but going higher up to try and stop the valkyr drug production

all spoilers on MAX PAYNE. gonna go watch HEROES et al. now....
Spoiler:
was trying to not completely spoil the movie in case someone actually...you know.... anyway, the movie sounds faithful to what max says about the game. although it was a bit disappointing for it. I would have been more interested if it were more like CONSTANTINE, which is what they were selling it as in the previews. I don't feel betrayed like in THE VILLAGE cuz I didn't hate the movie, but it's a similarly retarded misleading trailer (you the wrong people in the movie; they don't like it; they say it's crap; and the right people don't see the movie at all cuz the trailer pushes them away - how is that a good strategy?)

liked GOSSIP GIRLS. TERMINATOR was ok. HEROES was good. MY OWN WORST ENEMY was good enough to watch next week.

ok while the sites been down i watched

Iron Man, Highlander VI - The Source, College, and Hancock, also can't remember if i mentioned it or not but rewatched Freejack (and purchased the novel it's based on aswell)

They were all pretty good, i was suprised by Iron Man as i was expecting a boatload of cow arse shit, so was pleasantly suprised, downey gave a pretty good performance, and i liked the way he doesn't hide he's iron man from the world.

2nd up was College, it was nothing really new at all, i guess the twist was the 3 guys were high schoolers on a weekend taster around college, but the same things occur.

3rd took the form of Hancock (by this time i hadn't slept in 30 hours) but it was still pretty enjoyable and a new twist on superheroes.

Tonights film was Highlander VI - The Source, this time a Blu-Ray rip, well it was tagged BD-Rip so i'm guessing that means Bluray Dvd rip, anyway it started a bit slow for the first 20-30 mins, then the action picked up, unfortunately the end was a bit weird and seeing as the plot for the entire film was the immortals trying to discover what the source actually was and why they are immortal the film actually answered none of these questions at all, at least not to any really recognisable extent

Freejack was just because i really love that movie and wanted to watch it again

oh also remembered i watched "You Don't Mess With The Zohan"

It was reasonably funny, a lot funnier then some of his more recent shitscapeades

there's a highlander 6?

COLLEGE was completely pointless. sub-D-list stars doing the same shit in less funny ways that college-themed movies have been doing for decades, and not even the ingenuity enough to name it something unique. the STV AMERICAN PIE movies are better. all of them. COLLEGE would have been ok if it were STV. it surely isn't worth the full-on theatrical release that it received.

I thought HANCOCK was decent myself, but I have to admit that it was VERY uneven, and what I liked was the first 30-40 minutes. the angels, end of the world shit was...well...a bit horseshit imo. complete hack job on something that starts very well. still, first half makes it worth the watch. second half is retarded in the typical studio/michael bay way. logic goes out the window. half-arsed action for action's sake. but being typical isn't really worth killing it for, and the first half was a good movie.

dude, you hadn't seen IRON MAN? why not? it got more or less universally positive buzz. perfectly cast, was the jr. downey, eh? whatcha wanna bet IRON MAN 2 starts with stark NOT being iron man after all though?

wait first of all... College got a theatrical release??? wow i am actually shocked by this.

Didn't I Robot also suffer from the same thing as Hancock, and I Am Legend, really strong to start and then sort of lost their way in the second half, maybe its just Will "Half A Job" Smith

Yeah i didn't see Iron Man when it came out because.

1. I refuse to support hollywood until they stop making tripe unnecessary remakes and sequels, ok some films benefit from a sequel, star wars, indy etc, lost boys, single white female, basic instinct etc however do not.

2. After the horrible Fucktastic 4, and spidercrap movies i stopped making Marvel comics movies a " must see"

I don't think iron man will start with stark not being iron man coz that would just be totally lame and stupid and shit

I thought I ROBOT was good all the way through. I AM LEGEND definitely falls into that pattern though. funny thing is, Will Smith is pretty darn good in both movies.

never saw HAPPYNESS or ALI cuz...well...they're HAPPYNESS and ALI, but he's supposedly good in those as well.

Speaking of American actors you love to hate, is Keanu Reeves not the PERFECT type-casting role for an alien who doesn't feel basic human emotions? (DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL). Oh! I'm guessing at least one person here already knows this, but I'll make sure: the original version of this movie is where Sam (actually Ivan, I think) Raimi came-up with "klatu verata nicto." It was on the AoD DC track.

yeah everybody knew that since forever dinky, it's a well known fact, lol, infact i wouldn't say raimi came up with it so much as plagarised it

yeah i never saw happiness or ali coz they aren't really the type of film that interest me, i did however see hitch which while not being on the same level as i robot, i am legend, and hancock, does also suffer from the "second half direction loss" factor

just imagine if Will Smith was in other romantic comedies like for instance mamma mia, the first half would be about abba, then the second half would lose direction and improve by being the songs of meat loaf :D

"klatu verata nicto" was the command to to Gort to stop him destroying the planet. Klatu is infact the alien's name played by Neo. Scifi classic history.

I am kinda looking forward to this movie remake. I think it could be very cool if done well. I am unsure how the US will handel it as in teh original movie the US militery is basicaly the bad guys. The original was a film with very strong anti-war themes. I would be suprised if this was done to teh same extream in the new film.. i axpect it will be mre nutral and focus on humans destroying enviroment of earth. Leaving the sticky topics of war and demonosing the US govement like in the original as a much softer punch. It will still be in there just less f it.
