oh also been watching series 1 of Shelley on dvd (the uk comedy show from itv (70s-90s) not anything starring Shelley Long)

I went and saw rambo... i hate to say it.. in fact i feel a bit guilty.. but it was awesome!!! It was really violent, didn't pull any punches and was exactly wat you expected it to be. Plus is was nice and short so you did not get board. Good old fashion kill/gore guns and fun... We all had a agood time and a good laugh... just a sily fun brainless flick.. really cool.

CHARLIE BARTLETT (2007). I guess by the date of it, it must've premiered at some festivals last year. it's a new release at the mainstream theater. it was ok. the preview I read of it was average/lukewarm. and that's accurate. except they compared it (unfavorably) to FERRIS BUELLER and RUSHMORE. It is not like BUELLER and not much like RUSHMORE. it's a lot closer to PUMP UP THE VOLUME with a side of THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. anyway, robert downey jr. is great in it, and there are a few laughs, but the movies itself is derivative and is found lacking compared to the movies in whose company it deigns to share.

wow. that was snooty, eh?

was there a new SMALLVILLE tonight? oh. wait. that would be tomorrow if there is. my bad. :?

BE KIND, REWIND. it's mildly humorous when they try to remake the movies. but the "serious" aspects of the movie don't work so well. or they aren't all that good, and they overshadow the goofing around, which is all this movie does fairly well - and there isn't nearly enough of it.

last 3 eps of TERMINATOR series, including the season finale. it was pretty good. the very last scene doesn't make much sense though. the FBI agent isn't killed by the terminator and that's very unterminator-like. I'm glad he's there in the series, but I think it sacrifices too much to keep him alive in such a deus-ex-machina way. umm....I think that's it. just been watching a lot of hockey lately.

Just watched "the mist"

spudthedestroyer wrote:Watched this movie; its hella-crap.

You can look at it this way, its a shit movie or its the best damn film about fiddler crabs you will ever see in your life!

This film could have been really good but ultimately its not, its overly long (although i didn't 'tune' out), had some okay parts to it (religious bitch, although a tad over the top), and the ending was hilarious, however not really worth 2gb of space ;)

Spoiler:
The film is essentially Half-life; just infinitely shitter. Wait for a half-life movie from a competant director and this film will end up being completely and utterly owned... better yet, play Half-Life 1, 2 and Ep1+2 :)

Worth a watch, but plenty of other decent films out worth watching.... if you want something new, check out the excellent The Orphanage.

Watched Southland Tales:

SMALLVILLE was new this week. part of me wants to say it was good. part of me thinks it's even knocking off itself at this point and has become a joke of a joke that just needs to die.

so I'll say it was decent.

South Park is back, another good un... they always are :)

I also watched Sick Nurses which was a short movie, essentially just a paranormal revenge flick where the mystery of what happens slowly reveals itself along with a naff twist or two.

I don't want to offend Thai people, but they have very annoying chipmunk like voices

Okay flick i guess, but not something to bother with if you aren't interested in anything other than a bit of gore and have a passion for asain flicks.

Rambo IV: Absolutely... truly breathtaking amounts of violence packed in to this movie. There's no pretension, there's no silly sidetracks, there's just some of the most of the top and brutal hyper-violence in cinema history. Stallone knew exactly what he was doing, quite clearly.

Possibly the ultimate catharsism for angst in movie form. Or that all important film to test out your 1080p projector and x.y Surround Sound system on :wacky:

One thing was clear, if you walked into that one expecting anything but hyper-violence then you really aren't that bright.

THE BANK JOB. I take it princess margaret did something naughty and naked in the 70s? who (outside of the UK) gives a shit about this stuff? ya'll don't actually care about elliot spitzer (former governor of NY who hired a prostitute), do you? don't even get me started on my frustration about princess diana being on every tv channel for a month!

anyway...the movie was decent. nothing much to say either way about it. I like statham. worth a watch.

yea rambo IV was awsome!!! When he wnet home at the end a cop car should have stopped to talk to him as he was walking along the road!! lol. Just loved it... like you said... was exactly wat it was ment to be... Like eating Mcdonnalds.. sure it is not great food.. but when you put your money down you know exactly wat your getting.

been watching south park, loved the cartman has aids episode, but this weeks (britney spears one) was just utter fuckshit, and boring, i found myself actually beginning to wander onto something else, which has never ever happened before with south park, so all in all this weeks ep was shit.

Can't really remember what else i've watched, i was concidering watching run fat boy run but just never seem to get round to it

@ dinky, you know they are making crank 2 right, which makes no sense at all concidering the ending of crank 1, but that's never stopped hollywood before.

I have to agree about smallville, it is starting to take the piss a little now, frankly i'd be much happier if they just said "ok Clarks become superman, now let's scrap smallville, stick him in with the rest of the JLA and just make a JLA spin off series instead complete with fucking batman, wonder woman and green lantern et al
