Loosely based on the M.R. James story, this eerie, contemporary adaptation follows a TV journalist who incurs the wrath of Karswell, a practitioner of black magic, when she mocks him in a news report. Marked for death by an ancient rune, she learns that a colleague suffered a similar fate years earlier with tragic consequences when he too ran afoul of Karswell. Now, her only chance of survival is to pass the deadly rune back to the crafty Karswell without his knowledge.
Starring Jan Francis, Iain Cuthbertson and Edward Petherbridge.
