yeah, reaper has gotten decent reviews. I haven't watched it. if it turns into heroes or something, I will. but otherwise don't care.

speaking of which: dexter, brotherhood, and smallville new seasons. (smallville actually premiered wednesday. I dvr'd). they were all good. brotherhood is prolly the best of the bunch. and it wasn't ever in serious contention with the other two, but I have to admit, it was nice to see some legit super-powered throw-down on smallville. but wtf? I know they don't wanna let clark fly. but that rule was (a) 7 years ago, and (b) it kinda defeats the spirit of the rule if EVERYONE ELSE can fly. in this case, I'm a bit annoyed that "super girl" is flying. super girl! she's a fucking spinoff of superman (AKA: CLARK!). Gah!

yeah i mean it's like Clark actually has forgotten in the season 2 premiere when he says to martha and jonathan "mum,dad,..... i think i can fly", then it just sort of yeah let's just ignore all that really forever, but yeah by now he should definately be flying, like Chloe said "you should really get on that one"

Supergirl is hot tho, but then i've always had a fantasy about supergirl lol

yeah, they went with real super models for their kryptonian "super" people. but I wouldn't wanna be dating her. I hear my super ex girlfriend was a terrible movie, but the idea is pretty damn spot on, I think.

yes...but the basic problem is still there. like superman and lois: when he blows his load, it'd go right through her. or if she does get pregnant, and gets a tan? the kid could kick right through her belly.

or with the super ex girlfriend...say you wanna boink another lass. now you've got a vindictive supergirl after you. fawk, man. that's a dangerous game to play man. dangerous game.

speaking of heroes...watched heroes s2 ep2 and journeyman ep2. I thought heroes was actually quite good, but as usually, I'm totally annoyed that I'm only getting little pieces of story at a time. it works. I just need to not watch for 4 or 5 weeks then binge so tha the stories start getting some coherence. journeyman was fine. it sucks ass compared to rome though. californication was better.

i like to live on the edge....

watched transformers 2007 last night, had very low expectations but actually enjoyed it, that was possibly because it was either ok, or because it was 3am and i was sleepy

or you like complete and utter tripe. you could completely remove all the giant robots (for whom the movie is named) from that movie, and it would be just as (pathetic) entertaining. that's the sign of a really bad movie.

i'm sensing some negative energy here, as for removing the giant robots and the movie being the same, i sort of agree, but then if the robots were replaced with say, teletubbies i think.... no actually i think that would be comically disturbing

Seems vista BSODs during installation if you have 4GB of ram in, i took out a stick, installed vista and applied the memory patch/bugfix and put the extra stick back in and its been very stable ever since.

:outsider:

Just migrating data across servers, i'm going to leave a big copy going and then i think i'll finally get round to watching death proof :)

That's 32bit Vista BSODing? Is there a way you could slipstream it like vanilla XPs to SP2, or did M$ make more sure you can't do anything with custom installation DVDs than they did check if it even works afterwards? ... I always hated large data migration. Hate large people migrating even more when they sit next to me :googley:  Seriously though, on that data migration... I prolly hate myself the most cuz I didn't go with an external hot-swap capable HDD enclosure and a dedicated eSATA/SAS RAID controller last time I upgraded my rigs... now, that's what I call large data migration in a snap ;)

I see a considerably smaller left shift key, and it looks like they moved the backslash key. he said something about the US layout being terrible though (on that particular IBM notebook), and I find that's always the problem when I buy laptops (cuz I'm cheap and only look at price & specs then later realize how crap the placement of the touch pad is or how inconvenient the layout or batter life is). but I don't see any major difference between the two that he swapped out. :?

I write code a lot so I find US layout more practical in that respect. Obviously, there's a <s>pond</s> (EDIT: pound LOL) and euro sign added to the UK layout (plus a few from extended character map if you want to write where in France you'll go next summer) and a few layout changes, like keys for # @ | ~ " \ ... all terribly important if you write code. I'd prolly lose weeks of work initially if I had to switch to UK layout... as for such problems... I (well, most of the world really) use key stickers to help visualize layout changes, then Alt+Shift to switch between different layouts (if you need more of them at all). IBM used to include such stickers with their notebooks, not sure if Lenovo does so, too :?
