umm...yeah. you start with dora the explorer (for toddlers) then you got your sesame street stuff. then there's the poké-care bear shite (the good version of thatlevel would be something like ducktales or gummi bears). then you get into your g. i. joe, transformers and superhero stuff (tween to teen). then you get the adult oriented stuff like adult swim, simpsons, looney tunes and the anime shit for older people who like shit for story telling, shit for jokes, shit for animation (although some real quality stills ). and finally, you get the horny hentai and princess jasmine getting reamed up the ass by teddy ruxpin while bent over a gummi bear stuff. ok. I guess that was just one picture I downloaded once. but it's burned into my brain.

Okay, I managed to watch a new film (shocker!!!).

The film was called Black Sheep which is a entertaining New Zealand horror flick that lives up to the heritage that country has made for itself in comic horror. You can guess from the title what your going to get is a bunch of mad/infected/evil/etc sheep and what you get is pretty much that. There are points of excessive silliness that wasn't exactly what I was hoping for but I really enjoyed the flick and would recommend it. Its a satisfying kind of horror film, kind of like Undead was in terms of enjoyment. Worth checking out.

well...would you let your 10 year old watch robot chicken? would your 13 year old even "get" aqua teen hunger force? not that it's adult swim, but tripping the rift sure as hell isn't aimed at 15 year olds. it's a cartoon for university and 20-something guys. family guy and simpsons are, of course, diluted in order to appeal to a wider audience.

anyway, Mature as in the games ratings and age of target audience. although I would also argue that such a move necessitates some shift in sophistication as well. there isn't a lot of satire up to and including the superhero level. not sure if you'd consider satire more sophisticated, but it is more mature. my original point was that beast wars, while still being in the superhero pool, is at the deep end of it. it's much more self aware and deals with ehtical delimmas in a more complicated way than its mother show, transformers, which is at the shallow end of the pool.

Two movies;
last night I watch the very excellent Bio-Zombie. I love asain films like this, the humour is very over the top and silly but it works and the actors always seem to pull it off. Contrast this to the pathetic drivel that comes from america where they have a complete inability to act, or be in anyway funny in comedies and it just shows the dire state of american 'comedy' in a lot of places (although there's piss funny stuff from the states too, obviously). If you've not seen this film, its enjoyable... basically there's a bunch of losers that work in an indoor shopping center and they are locked in there with a bunch of zombies. Fun stuff, but its old and its not the first time i've seen it.


I went to see Bourne Ultimatum and its probably the best in the series, more action, faster and more elaborate scenes, etc. Its the shame stuff but a bit more polished and the best in the series. They probably need to stop at this one though. Worth a watch with a decent telly/screen and sound setup, you'll enjoy it even with a lot of globe trotting/fast edits/etc.

Ultimatum was the last of the series. (it's a book trilogy adaptation). I like the first one more. more story to it. better balance. 2 was like a bad, choppy version of 3. doug liman and paul greengrass are both getting a lot of props these days, but I much prefer liman. maybe it's those hackjob edits that bothered me with greengrass.

now that is truly fucked up. the guy dies in 2001, and they publish someone else's sequel to his work in 2004? no.
