finally got around to children of men. it was a good movie. nothing special. I suppose that's a 6/10 on DK's perverted scale.

seriously, though. I don't understand why everyone's talking about the "continuous shot" sequence with the blood on the camera. "is it continuous?" no, you dipshit. the blood disappears halfway through the scene. "is it real blood? cgi?" omfg! well it's not real, you flaming imbecile. nobody was shot in the making of this movie. as for the cgi, who the hell cares? if you can't tell, then it's good and did its job. you'd think no one had seen private ryan or played call of duty the way people went on about that scene at FH. I thought it was nice and totally out of place. the rest of the movie didn't have the same feel to it. and oh, btw, it was the perspective on nobody! nobody! it was half what clive owen saw on a 1-2 second tape delay, and it was half what someone next to him saw. except THERE WAS NOBODY NEXT TO HIM. iunno, maybe the whole movie had the same perspective and I just never noticed it until the climax. but then, all I really noticed during the climax was that this feels like CoD w/o a gun.

edit: finished brotherhood s1. apparently two eps of s2 have been leaked online already. think I'll wait for showtime to start airing them though.

latest entourage.

big nothing. it's a "dramedy" heist movie that I feel like I've seen a dozen different versions of. this one was competent but otherwise indistinguishable. david schwimmer showed more range than I'd have thought capable. simon pegg is well simon pegg. likable incompetent. very stock role. everything about the movie was perfectly predictable. I'm repeating myself. ciao.

i think i'm going to watch the two fantastic four movie tonight.

or i may just ram a red hot poker up my ass... i hear the latter is more pleasurable  Then again, peeps here haven't been as harsh on FF as 'real life' people have.

the sequel is by far more childish. yeah. by far. heh. didn't think that was possible, didja?

dr. doom looks like a proper villain when he finally dawns the armor in the sequel, though. I'd be shocked if you thought RotSS was better, but I'm also kinda interested to know. weird, huh?

watched drive me crazy last night. about to watch californication.

fyi: both dexter and brotherhood begin new seasons Sept. 30. I'm looking forward to both now that all the HBO shows are canceled or on hiatus.

edit: torchwood is getting premiered over here soon too. looks interesting. will have to give a look.

okay, the first one isn't as bad as i told it was... it was okay, not great. Its extremely shallow, even for a comic book movie and the attempts at emotional attachment was just pathetic. What was all that between The Thing and his wife? Dr Doom was pretty shit in the first.

Jessica Alba didn't look very hot in the second :o That was a big loss. It was more childish and didn't try to do much developing the chracters, Dr Doom did look better... at first i thought the cgi was terrible, but Galactus was a bit prettier :) That said it was really dissapointing, think they could have pulled a lot more out of the source material there.

I've seen worse

I'd like them to bring in some real directorial and writing talent for FF: Marvel Zombies :)

hmm. I thought RotSS was more coherent than a uwe boll masterpiece, but honestly, there were so many "wtf? they can't be serious." moments, I thought I was watching bloodrayne without the benefit of a naked hot chick scene. (fyi: one of those moments was reserved for every shot of jessica alba's hair )

and that bit toward the end where johnny storm takes their powers by slapping their hands together made me feel like I was watching one of the TMNT movies without the necessary crutch of BEING a TMNT movie to begin with. :?

I watched the cartoon series in the mid-late 90s. and I can confidently say that this movie was much more childish. iunno. I thought I was watching a movie made for 5 year olds. I haven't had that feeling since...raise your voice, I think. I've seen much worse movies than RotSS. but my gawd, that was the definition of "kiddie" if there ever was one.

edit: that's not true. transformers had the same "wtf? did I just watch a movie for 5 year olds?" feeling. two gems this summer....

Marvel Zombies would rule as a film if done correctly... I would also like to see World War Z done as a TV show.. I think that would make a great TV show... each ep a different story from the war.... I wish.

right im back, it seems ONCE A FUCKING GAIN, i don't get updates to my email from this site so i keep forgetting to check in... anyway....

i can't be bothered reading through every response since i last checked so i have condensed them

jynks - world war z as in teh book by max (son of mel) brooks?, but yeah marvel zombies movie would be cool

Dink - superbad? never heard of it

Spud - i agree, wedding crashers was pretty much shit, and for me to say that it must be bad coz i like some real stinkers

everyone - i watched FF RoTSS and spiderman 3 last night, stan lee's cameos were pretty cheesey, i also agree alba wasnt that hot in f4 2 which was a big loss, rotss in general felt like it was aimed at primary age kids with possible early teens, spidey 3 felt more mature in the sense it didn't feel as kiddy as f4 2, also bruce campbells cameo was hilarious as the french waiter.
sandman was gay, eddy brock/venom just sucked so much i actually wished spidey had disposed of him before the film even started, even kirsten didnt seem as cute as she has done previously, looked all spindly.
tobey maguire just looks silly trying to be all bad spidey, the whole "oh sorry we got the wrong man for your uncles death" thing was just fucking retarded frankly, it screamed "hhmmm we can't really think of a decent way to intergrate the paths of parker and sandman so we shall just use a dumb story for it"

Been catching up on lost season 3, i stopped watching it around episode 7 because its not the kind of show that works as a 1 ep a week show, it works better as a block episode show, unfortunately the ide socket on my motherboard is fucked so my ide drives wont boot, and the 2 part finale is on there :@ so i have to wait til i get a new mobo to see them

Watched dvdrips of the lost room, good mini series i thought, although it felt a bit unresolved at the end, i possibly mentioned it i don't remember.

Watched the first 3 episodes of the new Flash Gordon series with Eric "Whitney in smallville" johnson..... it has it's moments but it also has it's huge lulls in anything aswell, its kind of like it wants to be action based and smallville teeny storyline based but the writers seem not to know how to implement either, theres the ocassional moments like i said, and the rare bit of humour but that's about it, ming is just a retard frankly, hans zerkov seems to have been demolished into some sort of schizophrenic nutjob who you wouldn't be half suprised to find knocking one out over beast porn

oh also watched mock the week, would i lie to you, tv heaven telly hell and the usual weekly comdedy offerings from bbc2 and c4

written by the guy who stared in knocked-up. produced and acted by the crew who produced and acted all their stuff: 40 year old virgin, knocked-up, freaks and geeks, undeclared. it has been the top movie at the box office for the last 2 weeks. (clearly that's only in the US )

check the world map section for some excepts

hmm just saw a IMDB thing for it mabey they are ,making it into a movie.. but darn a tv show would be better as it has SOOOOO much stuff in it.. no way they could fit it in a movie

it's like revenge of the nerds meets animal house. and aside from nostalgia shite, that's actually a pretty fair description of its quality as well.

(I'm not much of a fan of those two "classics" to begin with, but there are some iconic moments in animal house - same will prolly be said of superbad)

ah i see, i have to say im not exactly a huge fan of animal house or revenge of the nerds, they both have some good moments, but i wouldn't watch more then once

@jynks - i've not heard the world war z radio play, only got the book, just so it's the same thing we're on about, its a fictional after the even documentary sort of thing with interviews of survivors of a zombie apocalypse etc

sexy beast. I remember trying to watch it once before and being not so impressed and sleepy so turning it off early. watched it all the way through this time, and you know what? my first impression was right. It didn't help that I couldn't understand half the words two of the major characters were speaking half the time. but I still managed to follow the movie (just that if the beauty was in some witty lines, they would've been completely lost on me). and I was disappointed by ghandi's performance. didn't see what was supposed to be so great about it. then again, I thought the whole movie was a bit bland. not bad. just not very good. and when you're knocking off donnie darko...well...that's about the definition of unoriginal.

most of wedding crashers while I read through EW. gotta reset my mp3 playlist. too much stuff I don't even like is on there cuz a grabbed a few of those "top lists" for the 90s and a few other years.

Been watching a lot over the last week....

Harrry Potter 5
- Complete crap.. unwatchable.. walked out of cinema
ImageImage

Sleepy Hollow
- Pretty cool... nothing to great but still had that fantasy charm I like about burton movies
ImageImageImageImage

28 Weeks Latter
- Rubbish... Well put together and started really well... but the film was just a load. I mean go one way or the other... If your going to try for realism.. BE realistic.. otherwise go the evil dead way and just make it silly and fun. - Turned it off.. couldn't finish it.
ImageImageImage

Number 23
- Good idea.. but CRAP. Held my interest though as it was one of those shows that had a good concept and you kept watching to see if the concept was fully realized the way you imagined uit could have been.. no such luck.
ImageImage

Shrek 3
- lol.. lasted about 30 mins before i turned that off,.. completely unwatchable.
Image

High Plains Drifter
- Awesome movie... mabey not as good as some of the other true spagbowl westerns, like good teh bad and the ugly, but still great and Clints first directional attempt as well i think. It
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Xmen 1 - Still a pretty funky movie... I like it though it lacks any real depth and is a stupid defuse the bomb plot in the end.. While i liked the charicter set ups at the start it really drops gears once it hits the school. Starwars should have told em all.. just stick with the anti-heros and the villians... goody toe shoes bore teh shit out of us.
ImageImageImageImage

Xmen 2 - IMO the best of the three... there is a lot happening in this film and it is by far the best attempt in comic movies to date to utilize so many major charicters at once.. (anyone remeber batman with Mr Freeze?).
ImageImageImageImageImage

Xmen 3 - WTH happend on this movie? Rubish and unwatchable crap.
ImageImage

hmm another moth off .. wat to watch next week?

otta reset my mp3 playlist

I hear you... I just burnt off 22 DVDrs of mp3s off my server about 2 weeks or so ago to clear space.. now I am just listening to the new stuff i am slowly collecting again... Sometimes you just gotta wipe your mp3 list clean and start again.

I wish there was a MP3 player that could remember what you have listened to so you can jsut have it on random and all songs get heard .. with out you having to gen a new playlist every time you pop a new mp3 in.

Kinda like a radio station.

I have to say i fully agree with all those, especially 28 weeks later and the number 23, i think xmen 3 was a different director or someone important to the movie wasn't it?

I think it's impossible for anyone to forget Batman and robin with Mr Freeze

@max - Yea.. World War Z is the same thing you are thinking about but it is a radio version.. .basically each ep is the author of teh book you have having a interview with teh vampire style meeting with some survivor talking about their xp in the war....

It is very well done and well worth a listen. like i said before you can hear extract of it at

speaking of brett rattner, the fuckup who drove X3 into the ground, I just watched red dragon, and that was by FAR his best movie to date. his other credits include money talks and the three rush hour movies (all chris tucker vehicles). I would go so far as to say red dragon was good...really just competent. but entertaining so good. it wasn't what I had expected. I thought it was about the capture of hannibal, and that was in there (a token scene), but it was really just a competent clone of silence of the lambs. movie had a lot of quality actors giving decent performances. except I couldn't figure out who the fuck was in charge of the hair on that movie. all I could imagine was the tool who did jessica alba's in RotSS.

watched a random ep of south park where they save a killer whale and send it to the moon (to die).

@jynks, it took me a while to figure out your system. I just assumed it was out of five stars and I couldn't fathom how "unwatchable" = 2.5 stars. then I got to high plains drifter and was like "wtf? :? :o oh! 10 stars!"

@ dinky, i've not seen red dragon as the whole lecter thing jsut bores the crap out of me, but i'm most definately not a fan of the rush hour movies or chris tucker in general (he ruins 5th element), but i have to say i do quite like Money Talks, so much i bought it once on vhs for £1 from cashconverters , but then i do enjoy the bad acting skills of charlie sheen in movies
