IMDB / Rotten Tomatoes

IMDB wrote:In 2054, Paris is a labyrinth where all movement is monitored and recorded. Casting a shadow over everything is the city's largest company, Avalon, which insinuates itself into every aspect of contemporary life to sell its primary export -- youth and beauty. In this world of stark contrasts and rigid laws the populace is kept in line and accounted for.

There have been discussions both @ fileheaven and eselkult, because IMDB states English audio for the original version. It seems however, that this is a mistake. The movie was shot in French, but an English dub exists, that is not yet released on DVD. That was the result of the discussion at both boards anyway ...

'Starker' as in 'stark like Sin Citys high-contrast visual approach', (like the graphic novel its based on; a lot of black n white with flourishes of colour fer added impact-'Stark').
BTW, this is takin a while to come down; Is it worth the wait?...
Oh, and what is the 'Starker' you refer to myk? A film? :wacky:

No, I read it "stark", like extreme, severe,... it's not a title of any movie, at least none that I know of. Don't know why I wrote it uppercase :wacky: Anyway, didn't know what you thought would be "stark" in SinCity but now it kinda makes sense. It is visually "stark", almost monochromatically so  And I join in your question - is this movie/animation worth watching?
