ugh. noway. not even close. and I'm not defending spidey 3. it was mediocre at best, but transformers was ridiculously bad. spidey is bad if you're over...say...13. transformers is bad if you're over 5.

/me shudders

finished d3 of s2 for babylon 5. really enjoying this season. but at the rate things are going, I cannot imagine how they extend things for another 3 seasons while basically unfolding the same story. I guess something new has to happen? just can't imagine the shadow stuff occupying 3 more seasons at the rate stuff is coming down the pipe in s2 - not that I'm complaining. it's this fact that makes s2 far more interesting than s1.

saw harry potter and the order of the phoenix yesterday. it's the second best of the series. prisoner of azkaban, 3rd in series, is still the best from a movie craft standpoint (omg! I concur with a village person!). it's just that the maturing of themes and actions has increased since then, making the recent stuff more interesting on that very basic level even if the actual quality of the movie itself is not up to snuff with the third one.

anyway, the action sequences are FAR better than those found in transformers. and that's really saying something, cuz there's no way in hell giant robots kicking the crap out of each other is a less interesting premise than a buncha guys in robes waving little twigs around. nevertheless, the ACTION is far more interesting in the wizard battles - and there are a few this time, which were largely lacking from the other movies of this series.

In the Theater? Transformers, best movie of the year so far.

I assume that you mean that you've seen in a very isolated way, having seen other shit movies?

For example, Hot Fuzz has been out at the cinemas to name one movie that 1ups it :)

aye, but i think that it still suffers from being american as a lot of series do; a tad too many episodes.

actually, and this is prolly the reason I never watched it, you need to see just about every episode to follow the larger story arc. but there are still a couple throw aways. certainly nothing like most american 22-24 ep seasons though.

hmmm, i seem to remember disposable episodes, aren't the half-floor story, the brotherhood, king arthur, etc. all from series 2?

nice asides, but unneeded for the main arc.

yes, there are a couple disposables. only one I remember was focused on the doctor. there's actually only 8 episodes completely dedicated to the larger arc (war with shadows/rangers), but that doesn't do justice to the fact that 10 or 15 minutes from every ep drops something crucial about (e.g.) who kosh is, what the shadow are, what's being done or not being done to prepare, etc. of course, it's entirely possible that all of the earth-centered intrigue has nothing whatever to do with the central issues of the series. iunno yet. but it sure is one hell of a red herring if psycorps and the earth politics have no part in the ultimate turn of things.

Have yet to see that version of EotM. I loved the one from 2004, in fact I'm gonna put up the bank robbery scene on YouTube. But check it out:

"Zodiac" & "Summer Of Sam". Both were the best serial killer movies I've seen in ages but I won't write any more what I thought of them cuz I'm melting here and the two have probably mixed into one unrecognizable mess by now.

if you're talking about employee of the month (2006), the dane cook & jessica simpson movie, I assure you it has nothing whatever to do with the matt dillon bank heist flick (2004) that mw2merc posted. if there's another one, I've never heard of it and neither has imdb.

heh. it's not bad, actually. one of those "twists and turns" movies that don't entirely add up but don't totally suck either. it helps that the thing looks like a made for tv movie so the expectations are low. it's the b-movie stuff you live for max. I'm surprised you haven't seen it.
