keira gives that great speech

That speech was a true low point in that movie :P

Yar.. Class of 1999 is really good. I think it is a troma film before they went crappy. not sure... either way it is an awsome B-grade flick.

Empire is were it is at for sure... in fact i just watched Ep 1-3..... well biots of it as most of it I skipped around as it was so bad.

I liked the symmetry of it. barbosa's argument turned against him. anyway..."great speech" in that it won over all the pirates. not that she or it was particularly g-ood.

sopranos. entourage. wedding crashers.

fantastic four extended cut</i>. well...whether or not you liked the theatrical release, I don't think there's any argument that the scenes they cut out of it were all good decisions. not worth watching (again, even if you liked the original). the added scenes go from redundant to meaningless. skipit.

just trying to take advantage of the impending sequel (rise of the silver surfer) to sell some more dvds (they're actually packaging the $15 disc with a free ticket to see the sequel).

btw: don't bother watching the dvd5 recode. as much as spud bitches about the cgi in the F4 movies, it looks a hell of a lot worse at 3300-4500kbs. skin tones (not cgi, I know) look particularly bad. I haven't bothered analyzing the dvd structure, but it's one of those seamless branching(?) things with two streams (extended & regular). I assume that two streams share a great deal of video in common and just splice scenes. if not, the bitrate would be hella low cuz they kept both pcgs.

extended cuts are often hit or miss. like the mallrats re-edit was interesting. the underworld dc was (to me) literally indistinguishable from the theatrical. the 4 alien re-edits each drastically alter or enhance the theatrical perspective(s). it's definitely a crap shoot with these things.

jericho's coming back for 8 more eps, at which point it will be cancelled because fewer, not more, people will watch it next season. ;)

next season is BSG's final one.

both items have been on aicn for about a week.

yeah...ummm...reviewed it 3 months ago, foo!

and you'd quite literally have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to "get" it. it was good. not even close to as good as shaun</i>, however.

valor vs. venom</i>. 2004 stv cgi movie. it sucked. I watched the xvid. it was 16:9. but I think I may have fuxxored with mpc, cuz everyone looked fat. it was a dumb movie. definitely worthy of the stv label. very half-assed production. but it was still cool to see some of the old faces (even if those faces looked fubar).

a history of violence</i>. just cuz it was on in hd. nothing much to say about it. it's ok-good. a bit of a hybrid movie that doesn't exactly do anything really well or badly.

sopranos</i> finale. it was good. could've been better. have to admit that I didn't quite "get" the ending, and I'm not accustomed to that. it kinda sorta felt like a scene from the godfather, but they could've been cops making sure tony didn't run. iunno. there's absolutely nothing shocking about the episode. like if someone promises a "shocking" or "show changing/defining" episode...it's certainly not.

dvring john from Cincinnati.

for some reason i watched the 2002 remake of the time machine last night, i blame the heat and the injury i sustained to my leg.

While watching it it seemed to start and then just sort of end, i got the feeling i had somehow blinked and missed the entire story, lucky then that there wasn't really anything in the way of one, it felt more like a pilot for a tv show rather then an actual movie, one or 2 nice bits were watching time fly by from the time machine, but everything else in general seemed out of place, from the start all the way to the end, and WHO THE FUCK thought let's cast samantha mumba in a film

oh. that's the guy pierce movie, eh? awfully lame. actually, I think I liked a sound of thunder more. not that it was a better movie per se, but it had far less pretensions of being anything other than mindless shlock.

ocean's 13. was good. nothing special. probably not as good as the first one but, paradoxically, more original. iunno. good but forgettable.

serenity. quite enjoyed it. bought the dvd, after all.

currently watching a sci-fi channel movie called dragon dynasty. already not what I thought. looks like marco polo in china fighting dragons? oye!
