heroes</i> finale - good. coulda been better. annoying comic book moment: peter mastered flying a long time ago. along with going invisible, it's one of the only things he CAN control. so the big climax was rather contrived AND nonsensical.

24</i> finale - fine. nothing to say good or bad.

tudors</i> (not the finale yet) - very good (but don't be confused by my qualitative ratings; heroes</i> was better)

just watched heroes finale, it was ace, dinky is right it could have been better like for instance putting half an arse of attempt into a fight at the end, but still loved it and can't wait for season 2

saw shrek 3</i> again...with a friend who couldn't make the first show. glad I did. it was nice to watch it without the high expectations. in fact, it was quite funny, and I saw all kinds of in-jokes about other movies that I can't believe I didn't connect the first time (I mean, when they pull a princess bride</i>/billy crystal moment, you'd think I'd be the first person to pick up on that, given my PB fanaticism). it's still not nearly as original as the first and not as hysterically funny as the second (I was off the chair a couple time in s2). but it's also appreciably better than my first viewing. I wonder if spidey 3 will be the same? - no. I didn't think so either.

final two eps of veronica mars</i>. unfortunate that it ended the way it did. there was no attempt to wrap the series cuz the last eps were filmed before any decision was made. :?

also watch the tudors</i> ep that doesn't air for another 2 weeks. some special preview/promo with showtime's video on demand makes eps available a week ahead of time. in two week, it's the season finale.

i found the heroes ending pretty lame, it was one of the downs of the series, its been a bit bumpy. Shame really, but it did hint at things like another bad guy, syler obviously isn't dead, etc.... dunno, i enjoyed it but i wasn't impressed.

If it wasn't for hiro's little adventures it would have lost a lot.

yeah hiro is pretty much the best character, probably because we can relate to him (the somewhat nerdy downtrodden office worker).

But personally i quite like the character of parkman, i don't know if that's because his power is particularly great, or more the actor who plays him plays the part to perfection.

It was obvious
Spoiler:
sylar wasn't gonna die
in the finale, also i have been saying for months that
Spoiler:
peter petrelli has mastered flying so he could just fly himself out of the atmosphere to save new york anyway and he won't remain dead either, because he has the ability to regenerate thanks to claire, so providing being in space doesn't cause him to blow apart as humans do in space, then aslong as he doesnt get asteroid through the head i see no reason why he couldn't survive easily and fall back to earth in season 2.

Where nathan petrelli is concerned though i'm not so sure on whether he will survive or not.

Also i'm not sure about ando either, i'm not sure hiro really needs him now as a sidekick, as hiro really just has the final path from hiro to hero to take alone... oooh i did like that last part about hiro to hero, i might use that again

 geek.

there's more discussion of the heroes finale that may interest you on FH (maniacs heroes thread; it's near the top).

just got back from PotC3. I loved it. It was mostly everything that was good about the second movie and almost none of the filler. It's obvious that they bloated the shit out of the second movie in order to make it a two-parter. I was bored by PotC2 almost all through. just when it got interesting, it ended. Anyway, PotC3 was great. It's not at all transcendent or anything. It's just...well...it is what it is. Comic bookish. fun. serious w/o taking itself so damn seriously. I loved it. and keira is my goddess. I'm jealous of bloomy beotch for being able to kiss her, to touch her, nay! to stand in aura of her radiant presence. he's not worthy. I'd even watch king arthur</i> again, just to see her...even if it's with blue face paint and a medieval sports bra. :wacky: :wacky:

I did see a pic from the oscars a year or 2 ago where she looked really horribly skinny. but then there's this paparazzi shot of her on a beach in a red bikini and she has plenty of (toned) meat. iunno. there's the anorexic threat. I can't deny that. but she's just amazingly, smashingly hot in the PotC flicks. 8)

mostly, though, her facial structure I should think is her major asset. I guess beckinsale has a better proportioned body with a beautiful smile too. maybe it's the fact that she's already popped out a kid or something? iunno. they're prolly my top 2 atm.

OMG io just saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3.... Why teh hell do i even go to the movies anyways.... were the fuck are all the good movies gone?

I was taken there under duress as the first two were so bad, but hey I drag her to comic book and horror movies all teh time so oh well. I knew I was in trouble before the movie even started and we had like 3 adds for kids toys. Fuckn kids movie.

* Then bang!!! Children singing.. first sean WTF

* Had to put up with that awful chick ... man i spent the entire film just hoping one of these "bad ass" pirates would just beat the shit out of her.

* Colipso the god of the sea.. WTF... she grows big and turn into a bunch of fuckn crabs??? Geebus.

* The great battle of the pirates and the company fleet... 2 fuckn ship atatck each other and swim around in circles.... then destroy 1 other ship.... end of battle... W T F.

* Oh lets not forget the fuckn marriage in the middle of a battle... that was so painful i had to leave the cemina to buy a beer. Hoping the need to piss would give me an excuse to leave the movie again if needed.

Man.. i can nto go on.... that is probably one of the worst movies i have ever seen.... it reminded me of Starwars 3... pretty .. but FUCK IT IS SO BORING!!!!

What has happened to movies? Where the hell are the good ones.. we have spiderman crying in the middle of the battle with the villian and then forgiving him... we have unimaginative fantasy BOLLOKS from PotC.

FUCK THIS FILM, FUCK ALL THE NEW FILMS.. FUCK IT ALL
