I haven't really been following it cuz I think Fantastic Four is one of the least appealing superhero comic book figures, but apparently Galactus is rumored to make an appearance in Rise of the Silver Surfer as a "raspy voiced storm cloud." the quote is from this week's Entertainment Weekly. I thought that was the worst part of Hulk (who the feck want's to see the great big climactic finale between the hero(es) and a storm cloud?). It was part of a story on studios working with the internet, so I imagine some judicious googling or some digging at aicn would resolve the question. sadly, I don't care that much.

that is ultra gay, but yeah the fantastic four are pretty lame as far as superheroes go, i mean all other superheroes defeat baddies on their own, for these guys tho it takes all 4 of them, pussies

I was thinking more along the lines of "their powers are stupid" (except for the human torch) and "they have absolutely no edge" (except for the human turd, and I think that's only an issue created in the movie). in the comics, they're this happy superhero family and everyone loves them. and they have this entire fecking sky scraper in the middle of the city. and blah blah blah. I swear, I think the whole purpose for their continued existence in the modern comics world is for spider-man and the x-men to complain about "why do people fear and hate us but love them" nonsense. these guys would be also rans in the x-men universe (except for human torch, again).

Got to remeber that the fantastic 4 was the first ever US super hero comic.. as in it invented the entire concept of outfits, powers and stuff.. in fact I have a few digital version of the original F4 and they spend the first 3 book JUST explaining what a super power is.

 in any case, they've been extremely outdated at least since 1990.

and max, I get the feeling you're a superman fan, but he's a bit of a turd superhero himself. in some ways, he's the epitome. but honestly, how good can a comic be when the bad guy has to combat superman. that's like joe versus GOD. and you can only spin the kryptonite weakness so many different ways. (silly spandex and disguise are retarded but also part of the genre so they're less of a problem)

watched sopranos, entourage, tudors.

sopranos should have been a lot better. the main event was good. but that was the first 5-10 mins. the rest of the ep was a bit of a waste (except there's a hot chick). and it doesn't really do justice to the last ep, which I thought ended very strongly.

heroes tomorrow. looking forward to that.

georgia rule</i>. and before you duly mock me for watching a chick flick (at the theater no less!), this movie is laugh out loud funny. and eerily resembles lindsay lohan's real life antics - talk about being type case. funny stuff. the plot is blah. and there's this kind of pro-morman thing going on there, which iirc is one of the more conservative sects of christianity. coulda done w/o that. but it's also kind of blunt. like...this is still definitely a chick flick, but it's like x-rated porn compared to 80s/90s chick flicks ala pretty women</i> or practical magic</i>.

shrek 3</i>. funny but disposable. I hadn't realized that happily n'ever after</i> was a part of the plot ripping escapades going on between pixar, dreamworks, and now lionsgate/vanguard animation, but it was a ripoff of the basic plot for shrek 3</i>, which I think</i> was in production first (immediately following s2</i>). anyway, this one was entertaining enough and fairly funny, but it's also completely disposable. There are a few cool segments, but I think I saw most of them on the preview. iunno. I guess to put it in perspective, it's a better constructed and executed movie than spidey 3</i>, but I was more engrossed by spidey 3</i>, and that was only a 6-7/10 movie for me. so I guess this is more of the same. iunno. I loved the sequels to both franchises prior to this summer and both part 3s were (not colossal but still) letdowns. Next up is PotC3</i>, and I would have picked that to be the least likely to be good since it's sequel was on par with the level (and level of deterioration) of this year's batch of part 3s.

oh yeah, new transformer trailer. looks slightly better. you can see that they's done some major overhauls on Prime. at least now he's blue and his head looks a lot closer to the G1 prime (only in "battle mode" whatever). strangely, they have all these high tech transformations and sounds, but for some retarded reason, they kept the old transformation sounds as well. so you here plausible sounds (given the moving parts) and this sort of overlayed original cartoon sound. I'm sure they think they're giving a nostalgic nod or whatnot to "the oldschool fans" or some shite, but (a) the robots look nothing like their origins anyway, and (b) the sounds would have been too cartoony even if they did. talk about strange things to keep</i> from the original transformers....:?

none of the transformers actually talks in the preview. that, above and beyond the look of the robots, is prolly going to be the worst thing about this movie. I know they talk cuz the original voice guy is listed for prime, but the movie appears</i> to be narrated almost strictly from the human point of view. you realize, of course, that this means it's going to play like AvP</i>. now THAT's a scary thought. :o

Yes it is a scary thought indeed, prime will probably be able to transform into a vibrator aswell or something retarded knowing hollywood

and with regards to PotC2, it was obviously just filler leading into part 3, so judging it on the same scale as a "proper" movie like shrek/spidey 3 is probably expecting a little too much really

PotC1, 2, and 3 are written by the guys who wrote Shrek 1 and did the story for Shrek 2 (they had no part in 3). Ted Eliot and Terry Rossio. They're decidedly "hollywood" writers, but they are usually very good. you can see some horrid shit that they got story credits for though. I think day after tomorrow</i> or some devlin-emmerich shlock. I think they compare to a modern era william goldman insofar as movie scripting goes.

edit: smallville season finale. it's another $%^(*)# cliffhanger. and for some reason, I wasn't expecting it to be. the problem, you see, is that they took one 2 hour story and decided to make the first hour the LAST episode of the season. and it just so happens to be the culminating episode of the last 21 eps. so WTF! I'm sure they already filmed the motherfuckin' second part too. I mean...FFS. I've stuck through all the soap opera shite over the passed 5 or 6 years. it's not like imma stop watching now no matter how fuct the ep is. oye! and is this 4 month lag supposed to make me want more smallville? are you fucking kidding me? I won't even remember watching the damn thing. and most people don't sit around watching repeats of shows that the follow regularly while new. this just makes no kind of strategic sense that I can figure whatsoever. unless the strategy = piss off viewers. :?

yeah i was a bit annoyed that it wasn't a feature length 2part finale like scrubs was, the difference is scrubs didn't ever need one, smallville does.

Gotta say though about one part FINALLY, unfortunately i think we both know she won't stay in her current condition (i think u know who i mean) if you don't then
Spoiler:
lana being killed off

and i have to say i was really disappointed that there was a lack of any mention at all of the JLA apart from in the pre intro recap infact i was immensely fucking pissed off by that, although it was nice to finally have
Spoiler:
Martian Manhunter
become a bigger part, and of course the
Spoiler:
Clark clone is really just based on Bizzaro, who appeared in the 2nd season of 1989 series Superboy, and can only be destroyed by Blue Kryptonite, no prizes for guessing what's gonna come up in season 7 of Smallville

they did show his face all segmented like bizzaro on that final shot

hey, have you heard all the chirping about how great jeph loeb is being a creative consultant and now a producer or some shite on heroes</i>? now I think heroes</i> is great, but loeb was doing the same shite for smallville</i> for years, and smallville</i> wasn't some super duper break out hit like heroes</i>. fecking propaganda machine!

i haven't heard any chirping about him at all, infact if you hadn't given a description follow up i wouldn't know now, well i would coz i would've googled but anyway no i haven't.

I guess Heroes hasn't gotten that big over here yet, although it's funny when i hear people saying "did you see heroes the other day" and they go on about things i saw 3million years ago
