Has anyone seen this movie? I've just noticed its got a butt load of 4/5 and 5* in the popular press reviews but i trust some random guy/gal on a forum a lot more than those douches. The reviews seemed to be predominantly done by women with a bad track record of high scores to lousy films too, which doesn't help them

Looks like a kid's fantasy story, but seeing Lemon Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events which was actually an excellent film I'm very open to these family films these days.

Anyone seen it?

Not seen it myself yet, but a friend recommended it to me. And his recommendations hit my nerve more often than not.

I posted a R5 DVD-Rip @ fileheaven some time ago, that I had found @ ShareVirus:

since you're an "atmosphere" and "mood" guy, I'd say this is not for you (it lacks that burtonesque aesthetic that dominates lemony snicket's</i>), but anyway...it is (or tries to be) something between my girl</i> and peter pan</i>.

ROFLMAO It's size 4 diapers type of a movie -> *me chokes* Man, go see this movie. Seriously! You'll prolly end up practicing spoon position with some mid 30s single bipolar mom after she stops crying her mascara off. And if you behave and hold your pinky up :fruity: she might even let you change diapers on her toddler before breakfast  *me in a mood for some atmosphere now cuz similar shit happened to me last week*

ok. then I'm gonna have to call you on a party foul. middle-aged moms are not to be referred to as "chicks." it violates man law. :P

LOL true, true... hen then  And I thought you're gonna say you feel for me. So did you watch this movie? Didn't have time to read recent posts in "last movie you saw" thread so don't answer if you did and wrote there what you thought of it... I'll read it later anyway ;)

no. it's supposed to be somewhat preachy (the way all young adult fiction is), and I detest that sort of brainwashing; although I don't seem to have a problem with so many other kinds.

Yeah... mold wax while it's hot and shite like that. No wonder there's more products than humans to be found in people  I watched it in the cinema with some kids and their mom and don't even remember much of it. Kids were annoying (it was one of those days everyone was obnoxious), junk food was stale, and their mom was expecting way too much of me. I was half asleep throughout the movie so I can only comment on the aftermath ;) It wasn't a pretty sight :matrix:
