Spoiler:
IMDB: The DVD contains an extended version with an additional scene at the courthouse. This occurs right after Lou, Ginny and Paris go to their rooms for the first time. It shows Dr. Malick arriving and Detective Varole getting upset that the prisoner transport is out of contact. It also has a slightly altered ending that intercuts the killer with the real Malcolm Rivers committing the murders.

right about the time it was revealed to be a battle of personalities in a guy's head, I rolled my eyes and thanked the god I don't believe in that I didn't pay for that crap. you can only watch 13th existenz in the psycho matrix with adapted fiction on mullholland drive so often before you'd just as soon watch the next uwe boll masterpiece.

Existenz is stinky gluey kids crap for ppl that liked Matrix, X-Men, Armagedon,... :matrix:
Identity is enjoyable  but still crap plot-vise and the ending (or both of them) suck so bad, the whore on your spaceballs sure won't get a second chance

So nobody knows what's the difference between the two/four alternate endings of Hide And Seek?

:jesus: : I know.
 : Shit! Do I hear voices in my head again?

yes, 13th floor. the whole "this movie is not real" "this movie is all just a dream" blah blah blah. I will say this, it works a hell of a lot better as a sci-fi device where expect that kinda horse shit than in a movie that expects you to look at on contemporary, "real life" standards. like...with psycho...ok. ha ha. playing on the freud stuff. right. and it's not like the whole movie takes place in norman's head anyway. do that in the head thing in 1990-whatever, it's just fecking lame.

I was into it, btw, while it was a murder mystery thriller. it's the crap ass cop out, "all in the guy's head" ending that annoys me so much. they drive to the edge of the dream and can't go any further (right outta 13 floor, the truman show, so on and so forth).

it wasn't nearly as bad a movie as the village, but it had the same basic effect (although village was so atrocious, I was never into it anyway).

Recent purchases:
nightmare on elm street 1-7 (~£8)
mulholland drive (£4)
family guy S5 (£11)
The Puppet Masters (£4)
2x ginger snaps films i didn't have for £8
american dad S1 (£11)
Forbidden Zone (£5)
Altered States (£4)
Story of Ricky (£5)

Might be a couple of quid either side for each one. Also bought the limited edition Rocky Horror set, the R1 Total Recall limited mars set, a box full of Gremlins (12x gizmos), some Alien Kubricks and all sorts of other whack shit.

I watched Story of Ricky, still as cheesy as ever, but so silly its awesome. Been watching all the usual suspects, South Park last night was a killer :)

Work has pushed my viewing times outside of the odd film out the window.

Spiderman 3 is out in a couple of weeks iirc, i'll probably go see that, and maybe watch a movie this weekend, i was thinking Ravenous but there's the new movie by the guy who did Requim for a Dream... Fountain i think its called. Downloaded that so i'll have a look.

"R-Studio" is quite good at that: http://www.data-recovery-software.net/?GGLAW030 You should have no problemos searching for it on ed2k network ;)

Watched "Dead Calm", the one with Nicole Kidman, Sam Neill & Billy Zane. Since it's late 80's thriller I guess there's no need to give you my opinion of it, right? You all saw it anyway :D

It's quite a good thriller IMO so I'd easily recommend it to you ;)

Watched "The Fountain" yesterday and I was blown away by it. It's one of those movies that defies description so you'll have to see it for yourself :P Just do yourself a favor and don't try to rationalize every aspect of it. It's profoundly philosophical drama/romance and only just as much a Sci-Fi movie as "2001" or "Brainstorm" were towards their final scenes. Great visuals too and a score to match ;) A tightly packed circle of life omnibus!

Yep, Walken was in Brainstorm: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085271/
I was thinking of that final scene of it where Natalie Wood's character is dying and Walken's character uses his invention to tap to her brain waves ;) A similar scene to that grand finale in "2001". "The Fountain" has that feel in it only visuals are not that ZX Spectrum-ish

you're not inspiring me with confidence, but then...I'm not much of a fan of arnofsky to begin with.

watched new smallville. was better than some recent eps. there were some ridiculously stupid serial tv moments in it too. in the beginning, chloe and clark are discussing what her meteor freakishness might be, and she explains the whole situation to clark (clark already knows this; it was the topic of a recent ep) just so everyone watching is aware of what happened 2 eps ago or whatever. it just sounded so contrived, I thought it was funny. like the kind of acting/writing you find on a daytime soap opera.

Yeah, never thought you were ;) Your dissecting skills are impressive to say the least and you're able to put together coherent arguments I only wish I could but when it comes to more subjective material, be it religious, philosophical, political, e.t.c. either your objectivity shines like never or you rather steer way clear of such debates   Go see it and tell us how incredibly far off I was with my description of it, damn it! :spank:
