i have to say i agree dink, i usually despise v.day as a waste of time and all the usual corporate spouting singleton bullshit , but i liked the ep of smallville too, or maybe i was hoping against hope that when clark shows his powers SOMEONE MIGHT FUCKING REMEMBER IT, coz i'm getting really fed up of 6 years of "oh they saw my powers but conviniently they eat an unripened grapefruit and it erases all memory of them seeing my powers and stupid stuff like that. I'd love for once for them to just say "wow i remember it all" for a normal character, obviously people like green arrow, impulse etc remember, and clark kind of told chloe.

But anyway, it was an ok ep

don't call him impulse. we all I know he's flash. impulse grates my brain.

well lois absolutely cannot know who he is, imo. but I like that lana does know (in some versions). but the point at which she knows is past any chance for the lana-clark "thing" to happen. iunno. I thought everything about that ep (from the star-crossed lovers angle) was as good as I could reasonably expect, even if it's not my fav topic. I mean, he digs a grand canyon-sized chasm between himself and lana, lois (of course) remembers nothing but clark is already a bit smitten with her after the "sparks flew" kiss as green arrow, and the coup d'etat: he inadvertently destroys</i> chloe's post-clark life. I like the way they weaved it. lex is already completely lex at this point. so, other than battling clark/superman, his only relevance is going to be lana related. there's also some great material for lionel now. stop dicking around. have him finally try to right his wrongs and go down hard (most likely die protecting clark's identity from lex). iunno. it's set-up pretty well for all this is, and I think it'd be pretty good.

but see it isn't flash, I've taken to reading the comics, and in them there is a character called Impulse who is the great great grandson of the flash who is called Impulse who comes back in time and his name is Bart Allen (like in smallville), and my guess is because of the rumoured new Flash movie the rights for using the flash were unobtainable in the same way they can't get hold of the rights for batman, and (i believe) wonder woman aswell, as theres a rumoured wonder woman movie coming aswell, of course there is no green arrow, cyborg, impulse or aquaman movie and of course as far as we know there is no martian manhunter (hence why he has appeared) or Green Lantern movie, so there is a chance i think the green lantern may make a smallville appearance at some point

but yeah i liked the whole 'valentines ending' where pretty much everybody starts breaking up and/or mistrusting their partners haha, comedy. Lana still annoys me tho no matter how she is integral to the lex plot.

I like when clark has red kryptonite coz it makes for better stories, would i be right in thinking the whole lois scanty/sluttyness is another way of ensuring another season?, even tho it's most likely a given that it will get one, or was it more a gift for the dads as it were

I hate you. you realize that I now have to call the little fucker impulse. :matrix:

yeah. I think it'll be picked-up next year as well. it's a strong ratings performer. so I would expect some sort of 90210 or O.C. kind of announcement when they finally decided that they've milked the series dry. heh. 90210 analogy strikes again for smallville</i>.

show's been on for 6 years. ;)

just got back from pan's labyrinth</i>. it was good. not the horrorish adult fairy tale I was looking forward to. in that respect, brothers grimm</i> is more horroresque. anyway, it was good. the departed</i> was well better, imo. so here's hoping.

edit: the name of the movie in english is a terrible translation. the spanish title is more like "labyrinth of the faun." faun is a kind of satyr creature. but the point is, Pan is the name of one particular deity that has nothing whatever remotely to do with this story in any world mythology. I don't like the translation. :?

Liked Pan's... oh... El laberinto del Fauno very much. Did also expect something much different, but hey if all I'd get was what I expected, It'd be too predictable for it to be enjoyable anyway ;) English translation is kinda silly, though... I agree with you on this one, Dinky. There are also other *khmm* clumsy *khmm* translations in the movie, even straight from beginning, so I disregarded those subs and watched it as if it was in English... It's not a very difficult movie to understand even with very little training I have in Spanish (or should I say "Castellano" :? ) Anyway, del Toro is from Barca, I think, so I was glad it wasn't shot in "Catala" that I don't understand as much :)

watched rome</i> after the super bowl. liked it. not sure I see the need to change the actor for Octavian at all. it's hard to tell how much time passes...at times. but the only discernable difference to me was that the character was portrayed by a different actor (as opposed to him just looking older or being more "masculine" or anything else that might demand the actor switch). er...I guess I mean the obviously different actor was more throwing than any of the intended reasons to change the actor. the original kid/guy was too old to do something like that with. if it was a 10 year old or something, I'd go along with it more easily.

no bsg this week (presumably cuz of the super bowl?). :(

24 and Heroes. was ok, and was good. Heroes needs to be more than 40-45 minutes of coverage if they're gonna keep following all these stories each ep. it's like there's 10 minutes per "section." gummi bears has a longer attention span.

heh. cute.

for anyone who doesn't know, most Gummi Bears broadcasts are 30 minutes split between 2 eps. So they're usually 10-15 minutes long (excising commercials).

Can you two agree on something? :moon:

Watching Babylon 5 now as Dinky suggested and Farscape so Max won't feel neglected  Farscape reminds me of Red Dwarf :wacky: don't ask me why-- it has to do something with the laughs I get only it doesn't try to be funny it's just that it fails to be serious big time :cheesy: :D  Got myself two brand new computers 'coz old one was pain in the arse... I guess I just picked-up a bonus on convincing skills 'coz I only wanted one new computer so I'm in a good mood recently :D

Ah, yes... Also watched latest eps of my regular TV screen savers (Lost, Supernatural, Heroes, Rome, My Name Is Earl...) and it was great fun in between driver installations hehe ;)
