Thanks, but no thanks. I am waiting for a 1/6 DVD version. Should be for simple stuff like this more than enough. I really hate it that everybody thinks he now must release every crap in hi-res.

Ahh, found on FH:

There still seem to be sensible persons around somewhere.

It has nothing to do with hi-res
I posted flight of the navigator in the same resolution.
If people dig AC3 5.1 it usually gets around the 1.37-1.46gb size.

By the way. 1/6 DVD is 746MB, so Diamond are a bunch of wankers that should learn to understand there's things like DVDs nowadays ;)

I don't care if a file is 700MB or 746MB. I want to get 6 movies on one DVD-R. That's all. 99.9% of all movies simply don't deserve more space.

w/ 84 mins 1/6 DVD file size should be more than enough for most uses where bandwidth or storage is a problem. I get both your points. Perhaps I should look at this move length beforehand and post 1CD or 1/6 DVD release next to it (it should still be quite good quality) but as wargand said, it's one of those 99.9% of the movies that I simply don't care much about so I copied the post as quick as I can for the sake of others that might like it and forgot about it the next minute :D

MyK, don't take it personally. I have no intention to insult anyone who releases something here (ok, perhaps with the exception of joblack ;-)). My problem is just that I think I see an increase in 'oversized' releases lately, so I rant from time to time a bit to call it to attention.

NP, never thought you were ranting in my direction :D I noticed that too and it might be a prob for some, yes. No probs with me though, have nothing left to DL anyways. I'm DLing High-res stuff mostly 'coz one has to feed the mule from time to time. I do much more upload than download lately :( Feel like a frackin' server

All depends on the size and rez of your television. A 700/746 avi looks total crap on a HD TV 120cm, and even looks pretty scetchy on a 120 old school def TV.

Looks good on my 19'' LCD. Good enough for me. Larger screen -> greater distance = looks still good.

I've started to look for the higher and higher res releases now that all my displays in my house are HD. I just got a 37" 1080p lcd in the living room and it likes the high res stuff. Upscaling everything works suprisingly well but the actual good stuff there is no replacement for.
