a sound of thunder</i>. the cgi/blue screening/matting is almost comically bad in many scenes. the cgi rendering isn't nearly as bad as catwoman</i>, but the matting itself sticks out like a sore thumb - reminds me of the guliver's travels scene in AoD (it's that pathetic). movie itself felt like a composite of every michael critchton story ever told - kinda like jurrasic park</i> but instead of the "don't play god" spin, it's the "don't mess with time travel spin." I never read the ray bradbury short story that it was based on, but iirc, bradbury isn't exactly renowned for his attention to detail (although I forever hold a soft spot in me heart for 451</i>).

a sound of thunder rings a bell, i think (and if its as bad as you say it is theres a big chance) i have seen it. It's the one with ben kingsley in right about a company that specialises in kind of time travel pacakge holidays into a specific point in the cretacious and something goes wrong and the future changes in stages right? lol i seem to recall it was ok to fall asleep to, but certainly not hi-art

yep. that's the one. it wasn't atrociously bad. it's ok for being what it is and not having any pretensions about being something more. but it was actually funny how badly the live action shots were matted onto the green/blue screen cgi backgrounds (such as the stuff through the windows in an in-car scene: similar shots are executed better on tv shows!). this was a "summer blockbuster" movie, I remind you. it's just so weird, cuz I'm used to stuff from michael bay or roland emerich/dean devlin in these movies where the ONLY attraction is the expensive fx like seeing NYC covered in a tidal wave (deep impact) assailed by meteor chunks (armageddon) or a new ice age (the day after tomorrow).

i guess after it failed as a blockbuster regardless of season in america it never tried anywhere else

the way they got round the whole fact that histoy has been altered was really unbelieveably funny tho, oh erm well so we can change it it happens in stages, and erm well we're gonna slingshot you past the timewave so that you can sort it out and stop us being gay fish people

oh no damn did i forget the spoilers bits, oh damn now i might've ruined it for people..... no don't think i did actually

 it was something, but i don't know what.

Watched latest smallville tonight, i'm getting a bit annoyed at the "zoner a week" deal, but i guess he didn't let that many out so it shouldn't take long to wipe them up. The episode it self was soso i thought, it lacked what is making the 6th season good, lois & the green arrow, they didn't appear at all

yeah, it was one of those necessary eps: get the fortress of solitude back up and running again and give clark some definite direction as far as becoming superman. I actually thought it was still a higher quality show than the last season or so. but it's not on par with the green arrow stuff. next ep features GA's "rehab ep," btw. er...just watched that tonight. I believe there were only six "zoners," and we've already come across three of them: the guy from this ep, the girl from this ep, the plant girl from earlier. of course, I might be imagining the number six, but I think maybe chloe mentioned six anomalies or something...either from the satellite images or six reports or some shit like that.

also BSG.

...and first two eps of Heroes</i>, which does look good. except I feel a lot like I'm watching the NBC version of Carnivale</i>. and of course there's the blatant x-men ripping off (both the comic and especially the movie in terms of execution - the voice over sound familiar? like xavier narrating the "message" of singer's movies, maybe?). gonna catch-up with the rest tonight. will have a better idea of the series after that, I guess.

finished heroes</i> except for the latest ep (ep 6). liking it. not so much liking the indian professor though. seems awfully inconsistent - as if ali larter's single young milf character isn't the only split personality on the show.

have added it to the dvr schedule (bsg, veronica mars, smallville, heroes). also eagerly anticipating s2 of rome</i> in january. s1 finale was great, imo.

yeah the indian guy is a bit disjointed, i wasn't suprised at the revelation from ep 6 tho but as u havent seen it yet i won't tell you, although it is such an obvious revelation that you can probably see it coming already

season 2 is the last ever season of rome isn't it? i swear i read that somewhere
