x3 was a train wreck. there were some nice visuals, but that's about it. I never heard the gambit rumor. but no; he's not in it.
it would have been SO cool if the "cure" was something hatched by apocolypse and, among other things, was responsible for turning angel into archangel and causing magneto to work with xavier, but between x2 and the train wreck, I guess that possibility got nixed.
crossovers are possible for batman/superman (it was one of three projects that WB greenlit - superman returns</i> is the only one that materialized in the filming stage. iirc, the other options are no longer in play). the most likely "crossover" would be an Avengers movie (since the whole concept of the Avengers is more or less a crossover - ala justic league). ideally, spider-man, x-men and fantastic four would have a crossover, but spider-man is a sony property. x-men mythology is already fuct pretty good with 3 movies and an upcoming fourth centered around wolvie. and FF took a decidedly more traditional (fluffy) direction than the other two. Hulk, like spidey, is a contender for some of the x-universe characters (especially villains), but I don't see that happening either. there's some talk (aicn) about hulk making it into an avengers movie though. personally, I find the thought of superman/batman kind of dumb. they operate on such completely different levels that I find it hard to take a batman problem seriously for superman, and I don't think they can darken superman's persona down any further than this year's movie, which is still miles away from the gothic stuff that is signature batman.
edit: as much as I liked the dini & timm cartoons of the 90s, even their batman/superman team-ups seem forced and fall flat (for their standards).
Life ducks, and you sigh.
