Surface Ratings Lead to NBC Pick-Up

NEW YORK, October 19: NBC has picked up a full season of the sea-creature thriller Surface.



The series has been gaining ground on Monday nights, as its adults 18-49 rating has grown 17 percent between its September 26 debut and its October 10 airing.



NBC is still determining the exact episodic order for Surface, plotting its season around the Winter Olympics, which will force several weeks of preemptions.



Season to date, the hour-long show has averaged a 3.3 rating and 9 share among adults 18-49, and 10 million viewers. Surface has consistently rated second in the timeslot (behind CBS) with young adults and viewers, not including sports telecasts.



Josh and Jonas Pate created and executive-produce Surface for NBC Universal Television. The show stars Lake Bell as an oceanographer who discovers a mysterious deep-ocean creature, while Ian Anthony Dalr and Rade Sherebedgia play government officials who try to keep the discovery a secret.

This series is pissing me of. Its like watching a scifi version of forest gump clones. I knew this latest episode is going to suck since it of course started with that throat cancer guy doing a recap of the show. Then the idiots do stupid things like throw away the cell phone (as opposed to just switching it off), accusing people of tracing cell phone calls (as if you have to actually trace the call), swimming for miles in the cold water (probably to some town 50 miles away), putting that flower thingy in the refrigerator AND pluging the refrigerator on (obviosuly...a new character has to be equaly retarded as all of the other characters in the show). Also that little retarded Ewok lookalike kid needs to be shot. Those officers had a clear shot of him and didnt take it. Whhy? The jury would understand it if they showed them the previous eps so that they could see how annoying he is. Or atleast that little jar jar thing that he "protects" should eat him. And his equally uglypeople.com friend.

Of all the series that started at the same time (Surface, Threshold, Invasion, Supernatural), this is the only one that I've stuck with for more than a few episodes. I liked it because it doesn't take itself very seriously and is just pretty simple: giant monsters come up from the deeps...OH NOES! But ya, its starting to lag a bit over the last couple of episodes. And BOTH those kids need to be shot. I've just got episode 8, which I'll watch tomorrow morning after breakfast. Lets hope it starts picking up a bit.

I finally caught up with Battlestar Galactica though, which was cool beans .
