What Bittorrent Client?? [again?]

Postby Jynks on Sat Sep 03, 2005 5:40 am

One of these posts again...

I was woundering what bit torrent client you all use... I have been using ABC for almost the entire time BT has been around. I am trying BitLord at the moment.

What do you recommend.. and also I never seam to get the speeds that BT is famous for.... like I go to mininova for the latest SG1, Battlestar and Atlantis, but I find that even with 1000+ seeds i only seam to get like 5-10K max???

Any ideas? Port problems? Prefrence Settings? etc etc etc?

Azereus has DHT (trackerless technology) so you can find seeds outside the tracker your connected to. I think bitcomet does too.

TDL who seeds a lot of torrents goes on about torrentstorm all the time.

What colour do you get btw? it should be green. If its yellow it could be a firewall problem, that being your blocking ports.

towards the end by any chance? Your probably hitting the point where only a few of the people your transferring from are seeds, ie. where the majority of the peers have no chunks.

don't think so, some stuff downloads really fast, but i'm getting some xbox games, and some movies that used to go reasonably fast. Totally dead, and then when they pick up speed they die again.

maybe its a bug in the latest java (if your client is java based like azureus) or possibly a bug in the latest version of your bt client? or maybe your isp just dont like you like ntl dont like any of they're existing customers

nope, and nope. Nothings changed since it was working fine.
BSG is going at 50kb/s now anyway.

I dunno if bulldog will like me, they seem to not like most of their customers but i've not had a problem with them... looks like they are showing favouritism if anything.

yup, well i guess mines not screwed then afterall

Out of interest, you see a green blob right? If its yellow its firewalled and you haven't configured ports, blue is connection problems, red is tracker problems.

That's general though, normal right however.
