watched Wrongfully Accused the other day, way better then 2001 a space travesty, this was more leslie neilson getting back to his 80s slapstick naked gun/airplane comedy and it was pretty funny, glad i watched it

is that the fugitive spoof? I can only remember that being f*Icking terrible, but that might just have been any number of leslie neilson films from the 90s I'm thinking about :wacky:

lol yes its the fugitive spoof, where he plays a violinist who gets "wrongfully accused" for a murder, i just love leslie neilsons way of deadpan acting, which is probably why i love the movies u hate lol

Just got my Battlestar Gallactica DVDs, the miniseries and series 1 are cheap @ play.com at last so i bought em both. Watched the miniseries last night... nice to see them ham up the acting and sporting wacky hairstyles.

I watched a Sound of a Thunder

I went there with bad expectations.

They were mixed.
I enjoyed the movie. But lots of it was not so good.

As mentioned on the IMDB, the special fx were not so good

The CGI city+vehicles : AWFUL
Some matte paintings were ok
The CGI Dino was awful
The CGI evolved monkies were actually not bad looking. Mainly because they appeared in night scenes.
The CGI giant bats were ok
The CGI giant eel was pretty bad up close
Ben Kingsley overacted role was not so bad, but what a waste of such a good actor.
And finally. Not enough death and destruction :D

These are not spoilers since what I talked about was in the trailer and you can judge for yourself.

The story was simple and bad with lots of plot holes (ofcourse)

Will I buy this movie on DVD : NO
"Spectacular stunt my friends, but all for not... turn around please, what a pity what a pity." - gay officer in Spaceballs
"It has zombies in it, how can you not give a crap?" - Spud

Ben Kingsley (if im thinking of the right guy) is by no means a good actor, he was in commander rikers Thunderturds for god sake

About altered states, the ending always seemed like a major cop out to me, as though they weren't sure how to end it or ran out of time. Just ends really fast.

Then again, double ending do piss me off despite the fact many times they are needed to mop up the story.

I dunno, don't you think it just ended rather than reaching "the ending"?

Yea, but look at what that film was trying to do.. talk about a freak'n hard subject... I think all in all it was very good.. though it could have ended nice an tightly with his speech about "the eternal nothing at the end of conciseness" after the big freak out in the lab.

I think the double ending was just to finalize it.. .I mean if it ended like 2001 you get morons going "well wat happens next.... I do not understand.. there must be something more I missed" but if you just "kill" off the characters . well then bang the audience knows the story is over and that they weren't let down somehow by the story not continuing.

technically 2001 continues with 2010 - the year we make contact, although i got the feeling from 2010 that it was made more to try and cash in on 2001, despite the fact it was made about 15 years later or something
