which server doesn't really matter,but I mostly use razorback,donkeyservers 1>6,byte devils & breiz digitalus(in that order)
and yes I use KAD all the time,it makes quite a difference
you can verify this by disconnecting emule & using KAD for a few days(I use them both all the time but I've tried them seperatly to see the difference)

dunno much about the boards though...

Razorback 2.0, or several other biggers ones, mxyzptlk, mentioned some. Just add them to your static list and check always connect to static.

Yes, of course, KAD is great, speeds things up and increases source count.

Nope, no one gives a shit about your ip I assure you. I'd only use a proxy on some really dodgy sites, and even then i don't really bother. WebWarper was the best anonymous proxy but now you have to post your ip along with posts, so you need to use the webproxy to make a post, then use no proxy, come in and edit out your ip for it to be anonymous. IP based proxies are always dead or very slow. So no, its pretty pointless.

Please let me know.

Thx. :-o

fr0stbite, I don't think they've bothered chaning the 'warning' message since they implemented it over a year ago or however long it was
Its like edonkey2000 was 'beta' until about last year when they released 1.0.

Technically, emule is still a beta which means its new and in development

yeah, which server doesn't really matter ....with the exception of some bad servers that have been spotted.
the fix is disable the update as shown below and tick the "filter servers too" on the Preferences>security>ipfilter.
Best use a static list too, and safe server lists from http://www.gruk.org/list.php or http://ed2k.2x4u.de/list.html or a serverlist is included in the shadowcast ipfilter package ed2k: IPfilter.rev39.ShadowCast.rar  [623.1 Kb] [Stats]

Nope. The Razorback servers have been taken down some time ago. All current Razorback servers are supposed to be fake, and you should not connect to them.

Using preferably the Donkey Servers nowadays. The ones with IP starting with 62. All others are fake as well.

If I am right, then the first digits in the IP address stand for the country. Meaning that those servers are in different countries and not all in Netherlands.

Well. If you´d ask me, I´d say: Remove the Razorbacks and maybe even the Byte Devils (I believe there were some rumours about them being fishy as well).

The real Razorback servers were taken down by police / authorities (at least a year ago, I think), and new Razorback servers with different IPs appeared a few days after that. There was a general warning posted at all ed2k boards, and I believe these servers are now included in every IP filter.

Or if you want more reliable information, search the forums @ emule-project.net.

So since 'wmule' server listed as ed2k server: 62.90.175.146:4232 is truely in the Netherlands, even though it's listed in Isreal?

I list myself as: [HHaH] mw2merc

So add me as a friend & MSG me ;)

hagbard, no ips are assigned from a big pool of ips. Its coincidence that ranges often represent a country, but in fact two different isps in the same country are just as likely to get completely different ranges allocated to them.
