Got the plots and scenes, u tell me the name

Howdy,

well, I wanted to know if you remember this movie, i'll just throw a few highlights and you gimme the name:

timeline: it's from the 80's

plot: A husband leaves for a bizz trip and leaves his wife in their hightech house, the cpu that guards the house comes alive and starts to build himself a body. [suspension builds] tries to kill the wife... etc etc

scenes I remember: the part that the robot caught the wife and tied her down and slowly starts to cut her skirt from the end to top with a round saw while the husband tries to break into the house and rescue...

How the computer built itself from scrap around the house.


Downside: only the familiar one, the ol' dissapointment-of-watching-the-movie-i-loved-a-decade-later-to-find-out-it's-not-all-that.

jakobx, YEAH! you're right! i was fooled by the fact that in my country i remembered it was translated as "Proteus". then again after your hint i discovered it was translated "generation proteus". i totally messed up this one.

dunno, u guys maybe right, but I can tell u I saw it when I was like 7 (1984) and it scared me so bad I remember the scenes graphically and so vividly, since those scenes were the ones that scared me so much :-o

in any case, if it has those scenes and it's the movie you said, thanks, but still, It would be best if someone would actually rent it out and Rip it (I tried to find it here in Israel, but the video store doesn't have it...)

u know this could make a good quiz, someone starts off by giving away a few small clues as to what happens and the longer it goes without being guessed the easier the clues get, could really test how much ppl remember of events in films they watch

sounds like episode of any scifi tv show made between 1970 and 1995, kind of in teh same way that every 70s & 80s shows seem to ahve a boxing related episode

Yea it does sound like an Outer Limits episode and it sounds more like one when you here the cast.
