iunno...too clean and shiny. I blame cgi.

actually...that control console does look like something outta the original star trek series.

I watched those newer trailers, makes it look a lot better to be honest, Makes it look like the actors are emoting at last, that there's some nice action, better storylines, etc. We'll see...

But I still can't let go... remember back to TPM trailer? that's still one of the best trailers ever made, and we all know how the film turned out in the end....


lol, "too clean and shiney", people still claim they do this on purpose, oh its to make things look new. There's a difference between new and fake. Actually, its because the technology's still not up to scratch when its 100% cgi on screen a lot of the time, since they just can't get any level of realism still. But that's an aside, the problem's lucas, not the cgi as such. If there's a hole, fill it with cgi lava

Take a look at Carnivale for some great CGI, its great because you don't know its their (I'm not talking about the vision scenes that are obviously cgi, I'm talking about the removal of hills in the background of every scene, the changing of the seasons and lighting, and the dust storms... yup, don't know they did that until you watch the making of documentries).

vader was always shiney, always crappy looking... tis these new fangled digital cameras, not only do you have the fake plasticy look of the cgi, you have the fake crappy look of all the sets... and on top of that the REAL sfx people have lost the plot completely.... did you see yoda in TPM? WTF? They've lost the ability to make even the simplest of plots, let alone yoda... and these cameras capture all of it in all its glory.

Its not like the old Monty Python movies....
Cue smoke... no, more smoke!


Its very much out with the old in with the new these days, even if the new isn't quite done yet, and they've already taken the old round back with a double barrel shotgun and blown the mother away...

Spielberg a "Guest Director" on Episode III?

"StarWars.com divulges some fairly fascinating news in their interview with "The Making of Revenge of the Sith" author J.W. Rinzler: Steven Spielberg helped put some sequences together? "As George [Lucas] explains in the book, he gave Spielberg a few scenes to play with at the animatics stage: a bit of the Mustafar duel, and Yoda's duel with the Emperor, along with a couple of others. How much of Spielberg's contribution made it to the final film, only Lucas or Spielberg could say, particularly as George revised and reinvented every scene in the film so extensively in editorial."

I still don't see it given that's how I felt for TPM given its trailer, and everytime George Lucas was talking about "darker movie", he just means that someone wears a black cape or something lame.

In a sad geeky way I have enjoyed them all. I was let down by Ep I, Ep II was much better (apart from the lovey shit).

I will still go to the cinema with a nice joint and enjoy Ep III
