tripple audio + black and white. But mostrly I don't have it downed yet, but most movies from 1960 on this budget look pretty flakey now.

...triple audio mono (as it was filmed / dubbed)

the dvd source is supposedly a reprocessed, restored version.

yes, i know all that, but the fact that its black and white usually means they used low grade video cameras in 1960. Tripple audio + 1cd means that you've done a lot of compression (even if it is black and white), and that means that without specs or screens you have to make a judgement call about placement.

My judgement call was that a 1960s movie isn't going to look too hot unless it had a budget behind it, based on the fact they have usually degraded quite badly and weren't that hot to begin with. Hence why its in lower quality. Its an old movie.

Night of the Living Dead has been restored umpteen times and its from 1968. I'd put that in lower quality too unless it was a truely exceptional restoration. Others don't which i don't mind either. There's flexibility to allow for choice of placement @ dead-donkey, but the guidelines state use your own opinion based upon the quality of the rip and the source. Technical flaws are automatic, this one wasn't.

Being in lower quality is nothing but a divider to prevent the higher quality section being swamped with crusty bmovies, just as much as it to seperate out rarer movies that haven't received the treatement hollywood movies have Its not a sin bin like other sites choose to make it, and I think users browse the secitons indescriminantly by now

Lower quality is a different paradigm to other sites, which is why its lower rather than low.

Nah.. I don't care about it being in lower quality, just wanted an explanation, as I think its the highest quality as possible (the specs were posted @ dead-donkey). As far as I can remember, XviD above 1000 kbps 'cause the movie is just 1:10:00 (aprox) long.

mono @ 60 (aprox) (that's why it fitted 3 audios with nice quality)

If you can provide stats / screens for rips, its most helpful in making choices clearer otherwise what's left to go on is subjective
