Nigel Kneale's classic and influential series come to DVD.

In 1953 the nation was gripped by a new live science fiction series, The Quatermass Experiment.

Told over six episodes, the serial introduced us to Professor Bernard Quatermass of the British Rocket Group. Quatermass is called to investigate an astronaut who has returned from space and is acting rather oddly.

Over two more serials - Quatermass II and Quatermass and the Pit - Kneale set the blueprint for science fiction, establishing the three basic storylines: "We go to them", "They go to us" and "They've always been here".

Previously, only Quatermass and the Pit has been available to buy - Attempts to record television were in their infancy when the first serial was broadcast and so only two episodes exist, and although complete, the poor quality of Quatermass II has prevented it from being released.

Complete Quatermas is spread over three discs and includes the following extras:

* Rudolph Cartier - A Television Pioneer
* Lime Grove Story featurette
* Film inserts for Quatermass II
* Opening Titles for both parts of the compilation version of Quatermass And The Pit
* Collectors booklet
* Continuities
* The Quatermass trailer
* The Kneale Tapes
