I suspect it was parodying some films I've not seen.

i didn't rate it much this week either, however even when south park misses it's still better then the best episode of simpsons... not that it's difficult

simpsons halloween specials are so lame these days... horrible.

i have no idea, the only thing i do know is american shows no longer seem to take 6 months to get here like they used to, walking dead airs here on a... friday here i think, it#s less then a week after it airs in america anyway

In terms of TV? Sometimes uk gets it before (BSG, etc.), sometimes an episode behind, sometimes months behind.

Me, less than 24hrs later using:

Watched a few films I'd not seen in a while.

Resident Evil.... fuck me this is so bad, i remember it not being as shit but knew i didn't think much of it. Now i think its fucking awful. Sorry for the language but FUCK what a waste of a franchise and a shitty, shitty, shitty film. Horrible, and deleted. Paul W. S. Anderson, you are a terrible writer... quit your day job :)

Slither... I remember enjoying it more but its gorey and enjoyable. Its a really good homage to alien invasion b-movies and unique in its own way. Lots of nods to other movies.

Walking Dead is great, american dad is great, family guy isn't that funny but still watchable, simpsons is retarded, dexter is keeping me watching it. Smallville; just f*cking blow something up already :)

welcome to my world of Paul W.S. Anderson hate spud

I've been watching a lot of the new stand up comics dvd releases for this year

So far i have watched:

Frankie Boyle - If I Could Reach Out Through Your TV And Strangle You I Would
Pretty funny, aggressive comedy, unlike his first dvd which was utter shit, this one was actually new material instead of just everything he had ever said on Mock the week

Jimmy Carr Live - Making People Laugh
had it's moments, but nowhere near as funny as his earlier stuff, felt like he was just trying to shock for the sake of it, rather then being funny.

Lee Mack Live - Going Out
Meh, averagely funny, more loud and sweary then trying and add some humour into the mix

Norman Lovett - Bags And Biscuits (technically that was released in 2008 but i only found out about it recently)
This was different, mainly because Norman Lovett isn't a stand up comic as such, and it's a nice quite quaint style show, and i enjoyed it

Rhod Gilbert And The Cat That Looked Like Nicholas Lyndhurst Live
fucking shit, don't even know why i bothered watching it, as he's shit

Richard Herring Live - Hitler Moustache
As always Richard Herring was hilarious, the kind of humour you would expect from him

Ricky Gervais Live 4 - Science
Very funny, i really enjoyed this, i've enjoyed all his shows

Stephen K. Amos Live - The Feel Good Factor
He is pretty funny, good show, made me laugh

Tim Vine Live - Punslinger
one liner type of comedian, some hit some miss

Simon Amstell Live - Do Nothing
it's over and it's crap, didn't laugh once

and i have left to watch:

Bill Bailey Live - Dandelion Mind
Dara O'Briain Live - This Is The Show
John Bishop Live - Elvis Has Left The Building
Kevin Bridges Live - The Story So Far
Milton Jones Live - Universe Tour Part One - Earth
Sean Lock Live - Lockipedia

I am currently watching:

Stewart Francis Live - Tour De Francis
Pretty good so far, one liners, canadian, very funny

I don't think I've heard of any of those comedians.

I, too, enjoyed SLITHER. it's a little more serious (vs. comic) than SHAUN or AoD iirc, but it's in the same vein.

They are all British comedians (except Stewart Francis who is Canadian), Norman Lovett played Holly in Red Dwarf, so you probably know him better as that chracter.

Ricky Gervias created the Original UK Series of The Office, he also played David Brent (the main character/boss) in it

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010)
probably my favorite of the series thus far, but I think the third one is still the tighter movie. I'm not a fan of the books or series to begin with, however.

Tangled (2010)
this is the first disney movie that feels like a disney movie in a good way. it's like the cgi version of the classic disney animation. it's smart. it's predictable. it's self-aware. honestly, I detected a little ALADDIN flare to it. I enjoyed it. doesn't rewrite animated movies, but there's more here than just a child's movie. this is one that disney did right. it's a great balance of old school disney and new school animation (i.e. pixar postmodernism & quality).

Faster (2010)
I like The Rock, and I like The Rock in this sort of badass, Man on Fire-ish role. But this flick is B-movie all the way. there are some good actors whose talents are utterly wasted. the director or whoever edited this thing should be summarily executed. the narrative ploys make me think either the director or writer is schizophrenic. all of that said, the movie is watchable. but I don't see any reason to watch it either. ok. there's one reason: the girlfriend of the mercenary/assassin is hot. but she's never naked. and their roles in the movie add to the aforementioned feeling of schizophrenia.
