i just hope they don't open my copy of "actiongirls" Soldiers of the Dead

I just ordered twelve monkeys, something else, fear and loathing iirc... on hd-dvd, as well as Robot Chicken Season 2 and Metalocalypse Season 1... seperately to avoid the fucks at customs.

Pricks. Make's you want to smuggle some crack just to spite them!

ROBOT CHICKEN is in HD?

saw KUNG FU PANDA. it was great. it's not sublime or anything, and its target audience is young adult. it plays on a lot of the same archetypes as SW and mixes them with a little eastern flavor. it also (obviously) play on/with a lot of the typical kung fu movie devices. very good effort though. I gave it 4/5. I also gave IRON MAN 4/5. those are the only two summer movies so far to hit that level.

btw: tv spots for INCREDIBLE HULK now feature robert downey jr. (as tony stark) talking to the general dude. how quickly do you think they came up with that scene/trailer once they saw the box office take for IRON MAN's first weekend? He prolly has as much to do with the new HULK movie as Samuel L. Jackson did in IRON MAN.

you should try jerking off on the keybo-

oh! shit. wrong window. ignore that.

why are you ordering super hero t-shirts overseas? isn't that massively expensive? is there a cotton/polyester shortage in england? :?

while most of the FH world has been watching Euro 08, I've been watching the NBA finals. pretty good series, actually. Celtics-Lakers. Marquee matchup.

i have to order them overseas because frankly theres more chance of finding a pin in the desert then you have of finding any decent comic book/superhero related clothing at all, unless it's related to recently released movies (iron man, spiderman, craptastic four) or unless your about 6 years old

THE INCREDIBLE HULK. meh. it was better than the other one (completely reinvented mythology, btw). but it was still completely forgettable. the hulk looked better. the atmosphere (lighting, mostly) was darker, which I think was the biggest single influence on the hulk's appearance. nothing really to say. ok super hero movie. not worth paying imo.

it was about the hulk so clearly it had at least 1 thing to do with the other one :P and yes im being pedantic

Frankly if you paid for it i'd have to stop your pocket money :googley:

on the subject of spending, i did see a nice dawn of the dead fridge magnet today so i bought it, its just the poster for the original in magnet form, but it still looks pretty spiffing

I did pay matinee price, btw.

watched I AM LEGEND (Alternate Version). it was more cohesive than the theatrical version and not so diametrically opposed to the original story's themes, but still quite divergent.

i don't fucking believe it, yet ANOTHER fucking customs charge, i swear i'm gonna go ape and destroy anyone who works for customs as part of a hate campaign!!!!!

reminds me of a joke i heard the other day though "i hate people who think it's clever to take drugs.... especially customs officers"

i think i saw the alternate ending to IAL, isn't it the one where instead of dying at the end, his stuff works and revives the undead woman thing....

Up to the final series of Goodnight Sweetheart now

Hard to say by your description. I think what you say is what I saw, but the cure doesn't really work from what I saw. he kinda gives up on it for "humane" reasons.

****I AM LEGEND SPOILERS below****

theatrical ending:
Spoiler:
cure works. neville gives sample to woman and boy, who hide in laundry chute/incinerator. neville frags himself on a grenade killing the "smart" nightseeker. woman and boy make their way to guarded community in vermont.

alternate ending:
Spoiler:
cure appears to be working. neville realizes that what he's done to the dead seekers on the wall is, to them, extremely cruel and that the alpha male and the female test subject for whom the cure is beginning to work are lovers and have higher brain functions. so he gives her back to him. the two seekers hug each other. then all of them leave neville's place without attacking/killing. the next day, neville and the girl and boy are seen driving away from NYC with a voiceover radio thing saying they'll be at the sanctuary in vermont (left ambiguous whether or not it survived or not).

edit: anyway, I must admit that I liked the first hour of this movie more the second time around. except for the cgi lions and generic cgi antelope species (north american deer?), I thought it was executed to near perfection. really, up until the woman and boy arrive, I think the movie is on track for a 10/10. if they'd just ended it on the pier where he was basically killing himself, it would have been a 9/10 on a good day.

borrowed the complete series of Eerie Indiana of a mate, ripped it, watching it, it's ok but doesn't seem as good as when i was younger

finished watching goodnight sweetheart, enjoyed it though, also watching another Lyndhurst comedy from the early 90s called The Piglet Files, kind of fun

Oh and been playing Metal Gear Solid 4, and watching Batman: The Animated Series

OCEAN'S 13. decent, entertaining movie. emotes cool like the first one (of sodenberg's).

I had actually planned to watch FEAR AND LOATHING on hd-dvd, but I caught this on HBOHD and decided since I didn't actually own it, it was worth seeing in HDTV cuz I could watch the HD-DVD anytime. so that's still sitting in the player awaiting my interest.
