No, remember you like Leslie Neilson... you probably just like those shit kinds of two a penny american comedies whilst I think they are shit kinds of two a penny american comedies :googley:

It seems like more of a kids film from what i remember, not something I'd choose to watch again, or at all if i knew what i was going to get before hand.

I thought Black was good in SCHOOL OF ROCK. his riffs on "rockology" or whatever were fun (and pretty true). and he's actually singing & playing his own stuff. I caught ONE CRAZY SUMMER on tv the other night, and it was pathetic how badly they tried to hide the fact that john cusack couldn't draw and demi moore couldn't sing. britney spears concerts look more convincing (from commercials before you ask). I agree that it was a familyish movie, but that's kind of the point. so was BE KIND REWIND, but that was absolutely unwatchable, and you don't know it's that kinda movie when you buy your ticket. they sold the previews based on remaking the movies scenes. SCHOOL OF ROCK was entertaining enough even if you're not 10 years old.

anyway, his bit part in HIGH FIDELITY was good. same basic character as SCHOOL OF ROCK. so I guess you wouldn't call it acting.

hmmm i saw an ad for one crazy summer somewhere the other day aswell, which i remember thinking at the time was odd due to the fact it's not remotely new at all or even what you would call a "big" movie , like for instance star wars would get big news etc

oh well

on my dc super heroes kick i've now started giving Static Shock a go, seems a bit kiddy though, probably is meant to be, but there was a justice league crossover ep i saw while watching all 5 seasons of that so figured i'd give it a try, theres also some batman beyond crossovers later apparently, whether i stick it that long is another matter but we shall see

I watched STATIC SHOCK a bit cuz it was on right before something I wanted to see...ULTRA FORCE or X-MEN I guess. it tries a little too hard to be "hip" like they're going for the "urban audience" or something. I think it was a well put together show though.

Yeah i noticed it was trying to be ultra hip, it kind of feels like an old 80s style cartoon more then a modern one, it's not so bad though so far, still a bit kiddy in places

ACCEPTED just cuz (I likes it!).

THE LAST SENTINAL. I think it was a Sci-Fi Channel "original." definitely STV. it was a cheap BD movie, and it featured Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) on the cover, so I gave it a go. Half of the plot is completely pointless (Sackhoff's character is superfluous). Basically, it's a STV version of SOLDIER + TERMINATOR. Stupid but watchable by TV standards.

YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN. it was pretty good wackiness (well, good if you thought the trailer looked funny). it's like every other Sandler vehicle though. off hand, the only none Sandler vehicles I can think of are CLICK!, SPANGLISH, and PUNCH DRUNK LOVE. of the three, I thought CLICK! (with Kate Beckinsale) had the most promise, but it copped-out toward the end - not in the overtly Sandler way that all his other movies do, but still formulaic and disappointingly.

i just stopped for a second and looked at my HD-DVD collection. I have loads of them now :o

My Mad Max 2, Batman Begins, 'arry pottAR films, etc. arrived yesterday.

Amazing what a bit of realistic pricing has done for them, I had zero before they bowed out of the race, I just wish they'd come back!

I've been reading about bluray doing terribly; doesn't surpise me... the prices have bleedin well gone up! :o

sale ends today and it's not a euro retailer anyway (I think), but inetvideo.com is selling most HD-DVD for $5.99-9.99, with the bulk of them being $5.99. No shipping on orders over $50. so yes, I'm in the same boat as you there.

not sure what you're saying (except they're not available there for cheap), but I just ordered 12 MONKEYS ($7.99) in my recent splurge. HEROES S1 was $29. I wanted BSG but that was still $40.

Customs doofus, customs! There#s 17.5% import duty on items over something like £17... if you don't put the price on the front or declare "present" you don't pay tax. Some companies do this.

I got BSG for £12.99 and heroes for the same price; that's about $25... i thought you were supposed to wasteful, cheap sloth-like "gas" gusslers? how come you are paying more for those titles! :googley:

I just watched Futurama and have to say it was a much, much improved 'film' this time round. The plot, and subplots, held together, there wasn't as much stupid slapstick or annoying homages to long dead comedy styles that's just tired (I'm looking at you The Simpsons, Benny Hill has never been funny). Much more enjoyable this time round.

for some reason, the TV series aren't coming down the way the other HD-DVDs are. anyway, I fuct up. I have 2 copies of Monkeys and because of substitution issues with my free DVDs with the player, I have dupes of THE MUMMY and ITALIAN JOB as well. :?

no. I doubt they ship anyplace but north america, and there's no import/export duty between US & CA (not sure about Mexico). just currency conversions.

you know what pisses me off about UK customs??? they randomly might decide to open your parcel for resons of "national security" or whatever, and then charge you £40 for the bloody "privilege" now excuse me but i don't fancy paying 40 fucking pounds to let some arrogant cockfag twat face customs gay go through my stuff and open them WITHOUT MY CONSENT, i know they all say "well it provides a safer life in the uk" erm.... no it doesn't because the people tehy are trying to stop aren't that FUCKING stupid to go through customs, and i think you'll find the high ever increasing rates of violent crime mixed with the constant influx of immigrant criminals (yes all of them) just stops the problem leaving while we add to it

FUCK OFF CUSTOM BASTARDS GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

ok so guess who recieved an opened parcel today from america
