smallville is pissing me off bigtime now. I think I'm done with it. turning lana into some psycho, female version of lex. meanwhile both lex and lionel are pretty much the good guys now. and to top it all off, they keep teasing about the flight thing and now the cape. it's just fucking insulting at this point. I understand that it's 90210 with superpowers. I've been watching for 6+ years. I'm not looking for citizen kane. but the little "in jokes" about flying and about making superhero movies are so goddamn irritating...I don't need that shit. wtf? I'd rather do homework or grade papers. goddamn "supergirl" is more of a superman than superman. that's just pathetic and stretching things too damn far. gah! I knew it! as soon as clark caught up to lana falling off the skyscraper - I knew they weren't going to let him fly but wanted everyone to want him to finally fly and it's not only ridiculously manipulative, but it just doesn't make any sense in the plot anymore. FFS! supergirl! oye!

Watching season 1 of "Rab C. Nesbitt" now and I don't understand half of it cuz of the strong Scottish accent. Don't even know if some of the words are in Gaelic or English :? I'll prolly get used to it in time so watch this space for even less coherency, awrite mukkers? :P The other half that I do understand is quite funny though. See ye efter! :D

turning lana into some psycho, female version of lex

That is what lana is ment to be if you read the comics. She is written as trying to be good.. as in she is doing things for the good of everyone but her ,methods are all evil. Her and lex were partners for lots of the comic... she run a massive empire of control.. sorta like stalin... her only army and stuff... she is getting more and more like the comic.

Also that is "Power" Girl not "super" girl.

I totaly agree about Lex.. he needs to be way more evil and super villian... As for linal he is a good guy in the comic. In the "Corporate" version of the luthors... Linal is a amoral, ruthless capitalist that often works on the outside of the law pretty much like he is in teh show... BUT lex is so far beyond what he would do that is is often trying to stop lex himself from luthor corp fighting lex corp. So the show is kinda bang on with the lex luther thing.. except that Lex should be like about a bazzillion times smarter and more in controle.. manipulating everything on the planet in some awsome eveil plan.

i wish they would jsut stop being pussys and let him fly, though i'm guessing you might have to wait for the season finale for that most likely, but yeah it does take the piss that power/super girl (whatever you wanna call her) and everyone else can fly BUT clark really is taking the smeg

Lol myk yeah rab c nesbitt is a bit like that, still funny though, especially the episode where his mate with the quiffed hair shows rab this erection spray called "stay hard" and sprays it on his finger and then cant move it coz it's rock solid lol

iThe same guy (gregor fisher) also starred in Para Handy which was a pretty good show but that was more of a comedy/drama thing, he also played the baldy man, which was meant to be some kind of scottish mr. bean but not funny... at all

Speaking of things that aren't funny at all.... i watched resident evil extinction (R5 LINE rip) yesterday, and i swear i want to kill anderson even more now, fucking even more characters and generally everything to do with the franchise over.

If it had been a stand alone "zombie flick with a budget" on the same level as say, flight of the living dead: outbreak on a plane, then maybe it would've been tolerable, dare i say even averagely ok to pass the time. But as it is wanting to be resident evil it kills itself badly

also watched latest eps of my shows

The big bang theory
chuck
journeyman (really really like this show)
smallville
heroes
back to you
reaper
cavemen (i might leave this show soon)

Also been playing the new Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties, i'd say it ranks up there with AoE 2 in terms of enjoyable greatness, more so perhaps then the aoe3 it expands on, possibly because TAD is created by not just ensemble, but also big huge games, creators of the great Rise of Nations

I also gave up on "Reaper". I had three last episodes to watch and only managed up to the one before last... I actually played spider solitaire at the same time trying hard not to get bored. I think the first ep was promising and in a sense quite funny, too. Then it just got soapy. It tries to be funny at that but I just don't see the point in watching it any more. Why don't they just paint a pentagram on the devil's forehead and be done with it :? I'll rather stick to some other shows like "My Name is Earl" for my weekly dose of adolescent humor. At least that show is funny. OK, done bashing "Reaper"... deleted  And I made such a nice folder image for it :(

Still watching and some half way through the latest ep of "Heroes". Iunno. For the last few eps I can't get rid of an impression the writers rushed it in. It simply ain't of a quality it used to be in the first season. Especially dialogs that are getting generic. I think I'll still stick to it for the time being but I'll expect some really fascinating conclusion to the second season if I'm to continue watching it.

I think I might give "Journeyman" and "The Big Bang Theory" a try and leave "Chuck" and "Back to You" for the rainy days.

Also watched "Island at War". It's a 6 part mini series of Channel islands being occupied by Nazis in WWII. It's a decent mini with good quality acting (Philip Glenister plays Oberst Heinrich Baron Von Rheingarten, the cherry in charge of occupation, and plays it brilliantly IMO) and some great action sequences, especially in the first few parts. The ending leaves the whole story just hanging in mid air as we only learn of the destiny of some lead characters and that's about the only complaint I'd have with it. Other than that it's a great mini only a bit hard to find. It took me ages to get hold of a copy of it.

EDIT: PM me if you want it and can't find it anywhere ;)

based on her wikipedia page, I'd say the chick on smallville is supergirl. but all of that aside, they keep swaying back and forth with these characters. I get that the world is gray, but that doesn't mean that people go from heroes to villains to heroes to villains at the producers'/writers' whims. every 5-10 episodes constitutes a 180 character change. how the hell many times is lex going to be pure evil then pure good? and lionel? and now they're pulling that shit with lana. it's ridiculous. I actually preferred the 90210 shit where everyone's pining over each other. at least that was PLAUSIBLE. and I'm really annoyed by it cuz they had such a great thing with lionel finally realizing the errors he's made with lex and trying to help clark while still refusing to let lex slip deeper into the abyss w/o trying to save him. that was a great dynamic. now they're gonna play all this horseshit with lana and who gives a fuck about lana anymore? we have LOIS LANE and now supergirl! lana is a goddamn also-ran. a supporting character. ffs! move on! it's been 7 years.

anyway, that's how I feel but the biggest complaint is actually the flying thing. they're fucking dicking around bigtime with it. it's far beyond being an "in joke" at this point. it's not funny anymore. it's pathetic. kill the series or let him be superman already. what? "your training has begun kal el. keep an eye on your cousin. that's your new task." WTF?!?

i have to agree actually let him freaking well fly already, like i said i imagine it will be seen in the season finale, and lana should've died at least 3 seasons ago, they had the perfect oppurtunity though with teh car explosion or the high rise fall, seriously kill her please, all the fans want her dead but they wont listen.

Chloe has also kind of started outliving her usefulness aswell, and jimmys just a retarded cocksucker, Lois and clark (not the crap series lol speaking fo which dean cain was in smallville last week) are the way forward, maybe with some JLA sprinkled in, also did anyone else notice that in this weeks ep the logo on the movie crews hats was
Spoiler:
that of wonder woman

@Max, you know that britcom list you helped me with? Well, either you forgot to mention "15 Storeys High" or you just didn't know about it meaning I can return you a favor with a title I think you would really like. It's of a "shit your pants laughing" quality britcom (and without even using canned laughter) of this "can't say yes and won't bulge for nobody, I'm smart enough to form my own opinion, thank you very much now buzz off" type Brit bloke living with an "can't say no and do you mind if I give you a hand with those bags please, they look kinda heavy" type Asian roommate. The whole scene is rather minimalistic with one main story every episode and occasional short sketches of lives of their neighbors, each one having a different screw loose. First few episodes serve more as a sort of viewers initiation than to be funny on their own (they still are), but it gets more and more hysterical with every new episode. Anyway, I'm really glad I stumbled across this, as I hear it, rather understated gem :D

well...my point is that his character (and lex and lana) changes every ep. I mean they change drastically from week to week.

just watched the doctor strange animated movie. it's by far the best of the bunch (avengers 1 & 2, iron man). and I'm no fan of dr. strange. it's a bit of a gay superhero. but the movie was easily the best of the recent bunch. imo.

watching 5th element on tv right now. and I must say that despite it's cheesiness, it's quite a lot better than I remember.

Shit Dinky, you just couldn't have waited for me to finish proof-reading my last post, didn't you? It only took me a minute correcting "server" to "serve"... now my post got marked with "last edited" timestamp just so it'll look like I'm this nit-picking hair-splitting overly pedantic tosser. Damn you! :eatthis: And I really tried hard not to show it

Yep, I should have known better than to educate you in quality britcoms  I guess it's more of a panel show than sitcom, nonetheless, what's your opinion on "TV Heaven, Telly Hell" Lock was hosting? I hear it's mad funny but never saw any.

@Dinky... I always thought of "5th Element" as quality entertainment. It's not your best multi-genre co-production sci-fi out there but still quite adequate if not decent for a lazy friday eve companion IMO. Say, you're from Cali, right? You're not by any chance living close to those fires raging out there, are you? I saw that on the news last night... scary stuff :( (Yes, I know now they've been burning for days and it seems the worst has passed, but as I said I'm not much of a TV person so if half of the world would go missing some day, I'd prolly find out only when I'd start planning my vacation or something.)

I'm in NY. 5thelement is weird. the casting and a lot of the particular plot actions and character speech is comedy or even satire. on the other hand, there's a core drama to the plot that the movie doesn't ever quite relinquish either. it just looks weird cuz, for example, you have that WWE reject as the president.

I don't think he was ever actually a wrestler. he was the guy hulk hogan wrestled on the no holds bared movie. he was that big black guy from friday (aka: chris tucker's finest hour: "you got knocked the fuck out!"). but he has that WWE persona. he's someone you'd never take seriously as the leader of earth or a united earth federation or whatnot. although while I've mentioned chris tucker, he fits in rather nicely with the ridiculous stupidity that the movie is layered in.
