heroes was really good. I know you can't have every ep on just one or two characters, but it was very</i> satisfying that they didn't cut to another arc every time it returned from commercial break. the whole 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off thing gets incredibly frustrating...especially if the concurrent story lines aren't closely related.

i have to agree dinky, i liked this weeks heroes a lot more then previous eps, it felt like it had a purpose too explaining a lot of backstory with claires dad and claude which was good as we don't or should i say didn'y know much about either of them until then.

i'd love to see how Claire's dad is gonna explain away to all the neighbouts how claire came out the house
Spoiler:
burnt to a crisp, and healed herself right infront of everyone
. but definately a good episode, and once again it contained Matt Parkman character, who seems to pop up as a prominent character in most of the best eps so far, leading me to believe he may play a more pivotal role eventually then mind reading gun for hire (as he's no longer with the police/fbi)

me and another friend also wondered how claires regenerative ability would be affected by radioactive man (i can't believe i just said that out of simpsons context ) as radiation affects cells, but obviously that has now been explained away

"A Good Year"... It's a nice little romantic comedy with a rustic feel to it that reminds me of some older French summertime romantic movies. Crowe & Finney are both established and excellent actors IMO but they and director Ridley Scott also allow others (lead female and support actors) to shine, even a newcomer Ali Rhodes that I never saw in a movie before and does an excellent job for the role she plays. It's basically a simple story of a rat racing cockney in a sudden turn-around situation reminding him of good old days when he was happy and so he starts making all the right choices for a change... A classic gradual power hungry and arrogant dick-head to a tender and loving gentleman transformation. Not a significant movie in any respect except for the die hard Russell's fans but I'd say that if Scott tried to blow it out of proportions he'd spoil everything this movie is... playful and fun to watch, preferably with someone to hold hands with ;) If simple and straight is not your cup of tea then I'd suggest Sideways instead as it features slightly more Kafka-like outside-in transformation in a more believable package. "A Good Year" has more day-dreaming feel to it.

been watching Jericho, just finished ep 4, i have to say i'm quite liking it, reminds me a bit of the old bbc series Survivors, from the 70s, in the sense something just happens and then a small group of survivors have to learn to live in a different new world, the only difference is, in Jericho it's a nuclear explosion, in survivors it was a virus that got loose from a lab, i hear they are planning a new series or a remake of survivors, as the whole theme of germ warfare and viruii are ever more present

Remake of Survivors would be nice IMO ;) although it had almost nothing to do with germ warfare as it was post-apocalyptic and we never see what exactly nearly made human kind extinct and who's to blame. Jericho gets a bit boring after first few eps (like does Survivors, just a few eps later) and that Mayor ep (#7 I think) is worst of them all IMO. Never saw later ones so do report if it gets better :D

soooooo the chinese/japanese guy who drops the vial in a lab over the intro and then gets ill on a flight has nothing to do with the fact that he had a face mask on, and a lab coat, and was holding scientifc pliers and drops this beaker of stuff that smashes open, then you see him flying to another country and drop down dead, then loads more country stamps flash up?

I'd say that's a safe bet to say he was working in a lab on something germy and it got loose and wiped out most of mankind

Damn! Forgot all about it ;) True, there's that far eastern guy. It's still post-apocalyptic in essence and the first few eps dealing with how it happened are short comparing to the numerous following eps...

Anyway, had a revival session last night and watched "Young Frankenstein" and "The Last Combat" a.k.a. "Le Dernier Combat" and even though I knew every last bit of them by hard it was still a treat quoting Gene Wilder's lines as he was saying them. "What knockers!" Great fun ;) The latter one is hardly quotable

I think you misunderstood, episode 5 was the "I've had enough of this shit series" point. After the escapades of the mongoloid outing to the library I'd had enough of this crap.

Lame ass drama pretending to be good.

Deserves to be cancelled really... reading around it seems very likely it will be.

wtf series are you watching?

I dunno, i just know it was f*ckin shit, the library set on fire and then there was that pathetic slow motion action sequence with a telegraph pole or something.

Weren't you digging at lost earlier in this thread? Jericho is just a extremely shittier verison, except it has no plot beyond the basic setup and is so light and fluffy i think it gave me cancer

well as we all expected, i got to episode 13 and am still enjoying it, the library episode and one after did indeed suck, and it was definately losing steam until about ep 11 when it started picking up

that's what i think anyway, even if it seems to be less Jericho and more Skeet Ulrich presents Jericho

I thought it was more like "The ultra tedious gay bear happy hour presents Jericho"

I am going to watch a movie, its either going to be dust devil, scanners or society (new rips of the first and last soon btw), and times ticking... i just don't know which one.
