Watched "Stranger Than Fiction" last night and for all the white elephants in the sky I can't fathom what critics were thinking giving this unpolished crap a Golden Globe nomination. I can understand why it would have user rating of 7.8/10 on IMDB as half of it is those 10/10 votes form all involved in production of it and others (real people) are - well, statistically average. But - could I apologize any of it's nominations? Nope! What is basically a good premise washes-out completely till the end of it as the ending was quite obviously edited by producers (and done badly at that) for the sake of giving your average Joe/Jill a chance to reach conclusion and perhaps even be able to identify with some of its characters. And that's exactly what's wrong with made by Hollywood fiction movies and contradicts its meaning completely. How can you have a good fiction that's constantly running to the ground? Also, the acting/lines and camera work/photography are made for TV quality at best. I won't go into details of it for the obvious reason some of you might still want to see it... Just don't expect too much and forgive it's average ending and you'll most likely still enjoy it. But giving it a major award nomination? What, did critics see white rabbits that day? What a wash-out!

EDIT: Oh, my rating? Somewhere in between "What Women Want" and "Love Actually" ;) Far, far away from being somewhere in the lines of, say, "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" or "Being John Malkovich", really.

watched latest Primeval last night, was better then the episode before it, big prehistoric reptile sea creature appears in a swimming pool and chomps down on a diver (in mid-air no less), was definately better then the episode before which was lame in the whole "oh i wish the guy we just booted off the team who is just a student anyway was here" thing it had, i mean they are meant to be a top secret government division kinda like a cheap torchwood, yet the best intelligence they use to find out about the dinos is.... a fucking geeky uni student who just wants to bang the blonde chick from sclub7, still it has promise that it can be good, it definately has more of a down to earth unpolished look unlike torchwood which does often come across as a glossy american stylised production

watched not just 1 Terry "Hulk" Hogan film yesterday But obviously being more of a glutton for punishment then ernest p worrell i watched TWO yes count 'em TWO films starring he who allegedly knows best

The films in question were Mr. Nanny ed2k: Mr.Nanny.1993.XviD.AC3.MiNcEs.avi  [700.41 Mb] [Stats] and Suburban Commando ed2k: Suburban.Commando.1991.DVDRip.AC3.XviD-ShitBusters.avi  [1.45 Gb] [Stats]

i had seen Mr. Nanny before when it first came out back in 92, i rented it from the video shop, but i have never seen suburban commando before.

I have to say i actually kind of quite enjoyed them too, it was sunday so i wasn't after anything to stimulate the mind, and in all fairness they sure managed not too , there was far less wrestling style fighting in them then there normally is in movies containing wrestlers, there was some funny one liners and hulks acting is in a way kinda suited to the character he's playing (he's a better actor then vin fucktard diesel)

is that the alien one? diesel is in better movies.

pitch black was a good retread. and chronnicles of riddick was stupid but good as action flicks go. I think the best movie hogan can claim is rocky 3. and I'd rather watch that diesel nanny movie.

rowdy rody piper, though, he can emote: they live. 8)

watched bsg. rome was a repeat this week for oscars. smallville was also a repeat on thur. :(

Two thirds through the second episode of "Primeval" -- Oh, the pain, the suffering, the horror  Don't think I'll manage to finish it :( Marked last position just in case I'll need it as a reference for what means being consistently inconsistent

Yep, you did and I saw that, I just thought I can take it ;) Not the case with this one... Anyway, have only about 2 hours work left for today and not much else to do till morning when I meet my deadline (or so I/they hope ) and I doubt I'll manage to go to sleep so I'll put on my tux, light a cigar, pour me some scotch (double, on the rocks :P) and play the latest BSG that's bleepin' on the recorder. Tell ya later, how it felt ;) Lord Wader knows I deserve some R&R as I did some 400+ work hours this month, I kid you not. Else I'll need a thorough examination

haha so true, i mean i do like an awful lot of b-rated crapola, infact all the £1 dvds you see around with titles like Space Battle, attack of the killer bullet, and Time Destroyers starring C Thomas Howell & suchlike, well their all made especially for me  amusingly thought i realised the other week, the lead guy in Shark attack 3, the one who says the historical line "im feelin' kinda wired, why don't we go back to your place and i'll eat your pussy" is none other then John "Torchwoods captain Jack" Barrowman , he's done well for himself

Well, BSG was quite good and that "working class hero" drama was a much needed change IMO although it wasn't all one would expect as it lacked some action. Thought they'd blow up at least something themselves since cylons aren't doing their job anymore ;) Oh well, maybe next time :? I'll try to finish that "Primeval" now that I'm equipped with a bottle of smooth scotch and am slowly regaining my courage :fruity:

fragpuss?

That would be something in the lines of :matrix: -> :moon: -> :eatthis: ?

ROFLMAO

"Primeval" is total crap in every possible way. I'm done watching it now and forever (FTR: last know position 1/2 way through ep3). Now I feel like I was stuck in a recursive loop of shite till the stuck overflow. What a fart that was! Feels good, though, all brain-washed and ready for new challenges ;)
