I don't think it can be down here, we're on the main postal route which means we get special treatment, because we are local people ... Pretty cool actually, normally get dispatches 1 day before they are supposed to arrive because we're close to the main office for west yorkshire. Plus it wouldn't explain why its only your letters that deep to have been rejected/lost, you didn't piss off your postal service did you? I'm sure i saw you on crimestoppers :wacky:

As much as i enjoy ragging on the royal mail, they don't actually deserve it for their service in this area. Even their package delivery service is better than specific package delivery companies. Must be the proximity to the sorting office.

Reminds me of the bit in monkey dust with the postage delivery system, all those clean sorting machines, hi-tech machinary, etc. Then the postman dumps it in the canal.

You know about the weight thing right? For a first class stamp = *just* 2 dvdrs (if your pushing it), iirc, if it weighs anymore they bin them rather than deliver and ask for money. I think you need to stick two second class stamps on if you are delivering via second class mail to cover the weight.

If i got time i'll see about re-encoding it, but i have 3 dvdrs to do every 2 days cos i use screenselect.co.uk , and i've just run out of hdd on my 1.5tb machine. All my emule completes aren't completing :( If it was a dvd5 it wouldn't be a problem but unfortunately it requires re-encoding :(

lol your probably right, the postal service probably just hate scunthorpe and i dont blame them

ill have to check out that screenselect thing, im guessing its like the blockbuster online rental service but actually good?

wish i had a 1tb+ capacity lol

dont worry about re-encoding, i dont find a dvdshrink job if its quicker & easier for you whenever you have time/space, rip out all the foreign subs and audiotracks if there are any, and dir commentarys fi you like, i dont listen to them anyway :)

i wouldn't put dvdshrink on my pc if it would cure all diseases and solved world hunger.

I only have dvdrebuilder+cee, and gknot in terms of video software on that machine. I'll get round to doing the dvd eventually, but it might be a week or so, until i can get the required disc space.

Biggest dvd rental place in the uk, so they claim anyway. Quite a lot of cheap crappy horror movies :)

sweet, lol it amuses me that a place that rents out dvds has an affiliate scheme with a forum/site that specialises in ripping dvds and releasing them via p2p, still i guess screenselect dont care so long as theyre getting the rental fee

precisely ;)

Well all of mine are posted back on the same day, that's gonna look slightly suspicious.

I watched Napoleon Dynamite last night, i forgot to mention... my friend made out like it was the second coming of jesus or soemthing, it was okay but he has seriously dodgy taste in films. I think he just likes dumb american comedies too much... he thinks will farrell is really funny, I think his favourite movie is Anchorman... its like, okay its amusing, but have you not seen a monty python movie, or the other kabillion films that are about 100x funnier?

Gonna watch Princess Mononoke now :)

LOL yeah ive heard people say the same about Napoleon Dynashite and will ferrell, the funniest thing is will ferrell was branded the most unfunny guy to ever appear on SNL, i hated his character in old school, but then again vince vaughn gets passed around into a gazillion films aswell when while funnier then will ferrell hes still not exactly a comedy genius

Princess Mononoke is awesome, I guess most of the buzz around it is true... i'd never seen it before but its well worth watching, even if you don't like anime like me.

Also now understand what everyone is talking about with the new zelda:

Nikita</i> en français. interesting. well, pretty decent. but a little too french to be really good. too allegorical/cyber-punk.

Spanglish</i> was decent. I can't say I really understood the ending. the sense I got was 'we're trying not to give the cop-out happy ending so we'll do this and it will be happy and real but it won't actually make sense' - the dvd locked up during a few scenes (yes, it was used from blockbuster. funny thing is the underside was in fine condition - cetainly no scratches. it seemed like the dvd player just couldn't play very particular places. weird. anyway, first rented dvd issue)

i started watching Hellboy, but turned it off (seen it before). Started watching Ghost in the Shell, turned it off...

might watch Henry Portrait of a serial killer in a bit, just because i can't actually remember anything about the movie what so ever.

strange. I have no problem watching underground again. but I too can't seem to care about hellboy even though I thought it was quite good the first time around. no probs watching spidey 2 or x2. can't really watch the originals though...except for the bruce campbell scene. haven't watched sin city dvd once.... other than "they're better movies" (which I suppose is a valid answer - although I'm not sure about underground vs. hellboy), I wonder if there's a rational explanation?
