Nukes in Space - Rainbow Bombs (1999)
This film gives the history of the ballistic missile arms race between the Soviet Union and the United States, focusing on high-altitude nuclear weapons tests. It contains a great deal of declassified footage of American and Soviet ballistic missile tests from the 50s and 60s, and provides an in-depth view of the series of high-altitude nuclear tests that the United States conducted over the South Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It also discusses the strategic and political influences that the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles and subsequent attempts to build antiballistic missile defenses had on Cold War relations. The movie is narrated by William Shatner.
