Need help with movie from my childhood

I saw this move when i was way to young and my memory from it is wage but i remember i was scared to death and had nightmares from watching it.
Anyhow, the parts i rememeber is a couple of people visiting a deserted town, no people and nothing. Then i remember domes coming up from beneath the nearby sea and some aliens hunting the couple later (and that's when i freaked out and went to bed...)
Not much, but perhaps someone could give me a hint.
