Show Description:
A new galaxy of adventure is about to be discovered! Join Colonel Marshall Sumner, Major John Sheppard, Dr. Elizabeth Weir and an international team of explorers from Earth on humanity's greatest adventure yet. The ancient portal known as the Stargate has been taking SG-1 on adventures across the galaxy for years - now, the door has been unlocked to an entirely unexplored network of gates in another galaxy.

Stargate Command has spent the past year searching for the Lost City of the Ancients, a fabled city created thousands of years ago by the same advanced race that built the Stargate network. When SG-1 finds a vital clue, Dr. Weir prepares her team to step through the gate to the distant Pegasus Galaxy. What they find is the legendary city of Atlantis - including new technologies, new allies, and a frightening new enemy! But without enough power to gate back home, the explorers may have been given a one-way ticket.

I just do not know how this show is going to fair.. correct me if I am wrong but the main pull of this show IS the charicter of O'neil... with out him will this show be anygood....

I hear he is in the new SG1 season but only 10 eps of the year *like mulder in later X-files or rimmer is that season of red dwalf.

Still I al also looking forwared to this I think it starts real soon in fact.

Difference is, with red dwarf he is a central character but not the main one, Lister is. X-files sucked without mulder because it was about mulder, and SG1 will suck without MacGyver because it was about macGyver more than anyone.... it sucked when they got rid of the archeologist guy (who's back now right?).

However when starting a spinoff from scratch, they are establishing all new characters so its nothing the same. As long as there's strong writing it will be alright, and there's no reason why there shouldn't be.

Yeah, they had Daniel 'ascend', added Jonas (who was actually pretty cool), then brought back Daniel. I liked it best w/ both these characters.

I noticed there's a scientist guy, I think was in SG-1 that was always 2nd guessing Sam & O'Niel called a weasel. From the previews it looks promising, but I want to see the premise for an enemy & how Atlantis is on some other planet, let alone across the universe.


I've read up on it and it seems to be launching more of the same. Hopefully they can do a healthy Angel kind of spinoff and make it totally different despite how it appears at first glance.

As for Daniel Jackson, he was way cooler than that Jonas plonker. I couldn't watch the series when he dissapeared. I mean I'm not a fan but when it was on I could watch it, but the jonas episodes were really hard to bare and most of the time I just switched it off. Without macgyver, I don't think it will be able to do much (SG1 that is, not this show).
